BARTON — Members of the public joined the select board at its August 5 meeting to express anger about both the slowness with which they say the state is reacting to complaints about two illegal junkyards and what they consider the too-lenient treatment given by the courts to the owner of one of those properties.
Gerry Leblanc said the owners of the two scrap yards have been driving junker cars from the Burton Hill Road property owned by Brent Bapp to Cory Young’s land on Leblanc Road, near Mr. Leblanc’s home.
He said Mr. Young has been crushing cars right there.
