NEWPORT — Families around the area have gone for years to visit their elderly or ailing loved ones at the Newport Health Care Center not far from North Country Hospital. The center is an assisted living facility that has long taken care of those with needs beyond the ability of themselves or family members to manage.
The halls of such places are familiar to many. A place where an aunt or uncle, grandpa, or grandma, or perhaps even an aging parent is given needed professional care.
The Newport Health Care Center, though, will be closing its doors in the coming months.
