Vinal A. DeWitt
Vinal A. DeWitt, 83 of Glover died peacefully on October 28, 2014, in Glover.
He was born on February 19, 1931, in Medford, Maine, to Arthur and Lyna (McGray) DeWitt.
Mr. DeWitt was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Armored Division as a mechanic on tanks after training at Fort Hood in Texas.
During his lifetime he was self-employed in Bucksport, Maine, owning and running two garages and a wrecker service for the area.
In 1969, he came to Vermont to work as a heavy equipment mechanic for SV Rossi on what is now I-91. At the completion of the highway, he became a mechanic for Calkins Sand & Gravel in Lyndonville, until his retirement in 1999.
Repairing heavy equipment, building and remodeling, and trips to Florida and Maine for vacation were his hobbies; but, farming was his passion. Mr. DeWitt was a proud member of The American Angus Association.
Besides his family in Maine, his main love was the Russell family and his associations with them for 40 years, especially his ownership in D&R Farms, where he and his ex-wife, Patricia Russell, raised Registered Angus Cattle, which they showed all over the country for 20 years.
He is survived by his grandchild: Brandi-Jo DeWitt of Bangor, Maine; his brothers and sisters: Ronald and his wife, Joyce Hopkins, Harold Hopkins and his life partner, Patricia Jordan, Keith DeWitt, Edwin DeWitt and his wife, Ellen, Kathy Hopkins and her daughter, Mandy Worden, and Dale DeWitt and his wife, Christine, all of Maine; several nieces and nephews; and by his ex-wife and friend, Patricia Russell, of Barton.
He was predeceased by his son Vinal DeWitt Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, at 12 Elm Street in Barton, with the Reverend Don Vincent officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on November 6, from 1 p.m. until the hour of the funeral. Interment will take place at Cedar Valley Cemetery in Charleston, Maine, at 1 p.m. on November 10.

Roger Lionel Duquette
Roger Lionel Duquette, 78, of Irasburg died on October 31, 2014, in Newport.
He was born on February 21, 1936, in Orleans, to Lionel and Rachel (Labounty) Duquette.
On September 12, 1964, he married Louise (Snyder), who survives him.
During his lifetime, he was an electrician for Citizens Utilities, and he later worked for Columbia Plywood. More recently, he was a self-employed electrician.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, and working on his car.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Duquette, of Irasburg; his son: Maurice Duquette of New Jersey; his brother Lewis Duquette and his wife, Nancy, of Barton; his sister Gloria Whittemore of Glover; his brother-in-law Donald Stoddard of Barton; and by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Wayne Whittemore.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, at the Irasburg Cemetery, with the Reverend Timothy Naples officiating. Full military honors will be held.

Paul A. LeBlanc
Paul A. LeBlanc, 69, of Albany died on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 3, 1945, in Barre, son of the late Emmanuel and Pauline (Guillette) LeBlanc.
He served in the Vermont Army National Guard and reserves in his early twenties. When his left the military, he worked for his father at E&E Tire. He was married for a short period and had four beautiful daughters. After leaving E&E Tire, he moved to Hardwick and began his own business, Paul’s Auto. When he closed his shop, he worked for Green Mountain Sanitation and then S.D. Griswald. He spent much of his life living in Hardwick, until making his home in Albany.
He was a member of the Hardwick Fire Department and a member of the Lamoille Valley Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed the friendships and comradeship when he was with his buddies.
On July 1, 1995, he married the love of his life, Joanne, and together they had a son. For the past 19 years, Mr. LeBlanc has enjoyed raising his son and making his home in Albany with his wife and two dogs, Bandit and Cuddles.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding a motorcycle, a four-wheeler, skeet and trap shooting, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved cooking, especially for family and friends, particularly when having a chicken barbecue. Time with his family and friends was his source of joy.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne (Patoine) LeBlanc; his children: Dana LeBlanc, Lori LeBlanc Dell’Amore, Elizabeth Hill, Nicole LeBlanc and Tamatha Clark; his grandchildren: Cassie Osgood, Heather Osgood, Acacia Hammel, Amber Boisvert, Aaron Clark, Megan Hill, Johnathan Hill, Julie Dell’Amore, Matthew Dell’Amore, Sarah Hill, and Gabriella Beaumier; his nine siblings: Arthur LeBlanc, Irene Hill and her husband, Warren, Rachael Williams and her husband, Gary, David LeBlanc and his wife, Gail, Albert LeBlanc and his wife, Robin, Anne LeBlanc, Diane LeBlanc, Denise Whitcomb and her husband, Rob, and Rita Griffen and her husband, Peter; and by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, at the Hope Community Church in South Walden, with the Reverend Ernest Machia officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Lamoille Area Cancer Network, 198 Farr Avenue, Morrisville, Vermont 05661.
Ethel Marie Rowell
Ethel Marie Rowell, 57, of Albany died on October 28, 2014, at her home.
She was born on November 20, 1956, in Newport, to Paul and Jean (Madden) Boulanger.
She graduated from North Country Union High School in the Class of 1975.
On March 1, 1975, she married Mitchell Rowell, who predeceased her on December 13, 2013.
Ms. Rowell was a stitcher for both the former Bogner and Slalom Ski Wear.
Her hobbies were crocheting, and gardening, which included making strawberry beds and flower beds.
She is survived by her sons: Andy Rowell and his wife, Britta, of Heidelberg, Germany, and Cory Rowell and his wife, Desiree, of Essex; her grandchildren: twins Angela and Alyssa, and Caleb and Natalie; her siblings: Thomas Boulanger and his wife, Wilma, of Newport, Georgia Fournier of Troy, Ruth Forbue of Lyndonville, Sharon Provoncha and her husband, Dale, of Westfield, and Joan Therrien and her husband, Roland, of Derby; numerous nieces and nephews; and by one grand-grandniece.
She was predeceased by her sister Patricia Hall in 2008; her brother Peter Boulanger in 2011; and by her nephews: Timmy Verdon and Billy Joe.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, at the Brownington Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, at 4670 Darling Hill Road in Newport, on November 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
