obit AldrichMichael C. Aldrich

Michael C. Aldrich, 49, of West Charleston died on November 22, 2014, in Burlington.

He was born on June 7, 1965, in Middletown, Connecticut, to Neta (Brooks) Aldrich and the late John E. Aldrich.

He was a cabinetmaker in Ocala, Florida, before moving to Vermont three years ago.

He loved hunting, fishing, and woodworking.

He is survived by his mother, Neta Aldrich, of West Charleston; his children: Ashlee Aldrich of Wells, and John Aldrich and Alicia Aldrich, both of Florida; his siblings: Ted Aldrich and his wife, Tammy, of West Charleston, David Aldrich and his wife, Sharon, of Haddam, Connecticut, and Wanda Folsom and her husband, Reginald, of Colchester; his stepbrothers: Tim, Rodney, and Ronald Aldrich; his grandmother Marion Aldrich of Jericho; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 28, at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, at 4670 Darling Hill Road in Newport, where a service of remembrance will be held. Interment will take place at a later date in Hillside Cemetery in East Charleston.

obit BreaultMarjorie L. Breault

Marjorie L. Breault, 83, of Newport died on November 21, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on April 9, 1931, in Island Pond, to John and Julia (Annis) Meehan.

On April 22, 1972, she married Alcide R. Breault, who survives her.

She enjoyed her family get-togethers and she was an avid reader.

She is survived by her husband, Alcide Breault, of Newport; her children: Gregory Abbott, Wanda Abbott, and Julie Perry, all of Newport; 17 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and by her sister Elsie Keltz of Dalton, New Hampshire.

She was predeceased by two children: Jerry Abbott and Penny Abbott; and by the following siblings: Irving, Harold, Neil and Clayton Meehan, and Joyce Martin.

Funeral services were held on November 24, in Newport. Spring interment will be in Pleasantview Cemetery in Orleans.

obit HolmesIsabelle A. Holmes

Isabelle A. Holmes, 90, of North Troy died on November 19, 2014, in Newport.

She was born on October 20, 1924, in Newport to Joseph and Florence (Marandola) Lantagne.

She married George Frost Sr., Fred Westover, and Edward Holmes, who all predeceased her.

She was a homemaker who provided for her children. She loved her family and having them visit and she especially enjoyed the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Joe Bedell and his wife, Lynn, of Ahwanee, California, Geraldine Morin and her husband, Mike, of Worcester, Massachusetts, Barbara Vigeant and her husband, Richard, of Newport, Gloria Frost of North Troy, George Frost Jr. and his wife, Rosalyn, of Newport Center, Lynda Leonard and her husband, Bruce, of Irasburg, and Amy Frost of Littleton, New Hampshire; 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Francis Lantagne and his wife, Rita, of Newport, Lawrence Lantagne of Newport, Melvin Lantagne and his wife, Jean, of Newport Center, Antonio Lantagne and Janice Jacobs of Newport, and Anne Hansen and her husband, Jim, of Newport; and by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers: Roland Lontine, Donald and David Lantagne; and by her grandson Sergeant Ryan Leonard.

Funeral services were held on November 25. Interment followed in North Troy Village Cemetery.

obit IsabelleJacqueline Isabelle

Jacqueline Isabelle of Newport died peacefully at home on Sunday morning, November 23, 2014, at the age of 92.

She was born in St. Johnsbury on August 2, 1922, the daughter of Alcide and Laura (Brunelle) Toussaint.

Her husband, J. Leo Isabelle, died on January 3, 2005.

The Isabelles were longtime residents of Newport and former residents of St. Johnsbury.

Mrs. Isabelle grew up in St. Johnsbury and graduated from Mount St. Joseph’s Academy. She worked at W.T. Grant’s in St. Johnsbury, and later for the Vermont State Employment Agency where she met the love of her life, Leo, after he returned from active duty in the Marine Corps.

Mrs. Isabelle was a stay-at-home mom who loved and nurtured her children and grandchildren. She was truly a role model for her family with her examples of her faith in the Lord and love of her family. She was a lifetime member of the Daughters of Isabella.

She is survived by nine children: Christine Wolf and her husband, Phillip, of Brownington, Claudette Schoolcraft and her husband, Gary, of Peacham, Marc Isabelle and his wife, Deborah, of Hamilton, New Jersey, Bernard Isabelle and his wife, Crystal, of Underhill, Donald Isabelle of Pittsford, Brenda Isabelle of Derby, Brian Isabelle and his wife, Allyson, of Loveland, Colorado, Richard Isabelle and his wife, Constance, of Derby, and Suzanne Schmitz and her husband, James, of Beavercreek, Ohio; 29 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; Leo’s three brothers and one sister, all of Barre: Hector Isabelle and his wife, Marilyn, Ellis Isabelle and his wife, Jacqueline, Romeo Isabelle and his wife, Yvonne, and Claire Carmell; and by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Celeste, in 1976; a sister, Gloria Carlton; and by two brothers: Leo and Normand Toussaint.

Mrs. Isabelle was able to remain in her home with the help of her loving caregivers over the last several years. They became her extended family.

Visiting hours will be held at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home on Darling Hill Road in Newport on Friday, November 28, from 1 to 3 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Newport on Saturday, November 29, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will be in May at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in St. Johnsbury.

Lewis R. Sarracco Sr.

Lewis R. Sarracco Sr., 75, of Newport died on November 20, 2014, in Newport.

He was born on August 15, 1939, in New Haven, Connecticut, to Pasquale and Elizabeth (Wagner) Sarracco.

On September 5, 1959, he married Susan Lewis, who predeceased him on May 5, 2014.

Mr. Sarracco was a machine operator for Pike Industries, from where he retired in 2000.

Among his hobbies, he enjoyed candle pin bowling, watching hockey games, and spending time with his family. He loved his cats and his dog Tracer.

He is survived by his children: Donna Blais and her husband, Jim, of Newport, and Lewis “Butch” Sarracco and his wife, Teri, of Northfield; his grandchildren: Shanna Pinheiro and her husband, Paul, of Dover, New Hampshire, and Shaun and Jordan Sarracco of Northfield; his great-grandchildren: Haidyn Pinheiro and Milei Pinheiro, both of Dover, New Hampshire; his siblings: Jack Sarracco and his wife, Kristy, of Florida, Pat Sarracco and his wife, Sandy, of Connecticut, Tom Sarracco of Connecticut, and Frank Sarracco and his wife, Penny, of Connecticut; his brother-in-law Mickey Lewis and his wife, Mona, of Newport; his sister-in-law Jeralyn Wolcott of West Virginia; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

obit StoddardMavis Stoddard

Mavis Stoddard, 91, of Craftsbury died on November 17, 2014, in Morrisville.

She was born on August 3, 1923, in Craftsbury, to Theodore and Ila (Parkhurst) Morey. She graduated from Craftsbury Academy in the Class of 1942.

On December 19, 1942, she married Neil Stoddard, who predeceased her in 2009.

She worked along with her husband on their dairy farm for many years.

She enjoyed walking her cocker spaniels, cooking, reading, boiling sap, spending time outdoors, and her family was very important to her. In her earlier days, she was known to ride horseback to school.

She is survived by her children: Jane Stoddard of Morrisville, Joyce Stenger and her husband, Bill, of Brunswick, Georgia, John Stoddard of Craftsbury, and Brenda Adams of Morrisville; nine grandchildren; and by two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her daughter Linda Usher on March 24, 2008.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, at the United Church of Craftsbury Common, with the Reverend Alan Parker officiating. Spring interment will be in Craftsbury Village Cemetery.

Carl A. Tyler, 75, of Derby died after a long illness on November 22, 2014, in Newport.

He was born on May 22, 1939, in Derby to Roland and Katherine (Marcotte) Tyler.

On April 10, 1987, he married Eleanor Gray, who survives him.

Mr. Tyler was custodian for Community National Bank, from where he retired in 2004.

He enjoyed doing yard work and helping people. He also enjoyed going for rides in the country. He will be remembered for his wonderful smile and great sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Tyler, of Derby; his son Wayde Tyler and his wife, Diane, of Newport; his grandchildren: Ciera Tyler and her boyfriend, Brad Glodgett, of Newport Center, and Carl Tyler and his girlfriend, Chelsea Poginy, of Newport; his great-granddaughter Carlie Twofoot of Newport Center; his sisters: June Dorion of Glover, Mary Beardsley and her husband, Tom, of Waterbury, and Alice Lebel and her husband, Lucien, of Derby; his sister-in-law Marilyn Meleleu of Ludlow, Massachusetts; his brother-in-law Robert Gray and his wife, Peggy, of East Charleston; and numerous nieces and nephews and by his dog Chloe.

He was predeceased by his parents; his sister Evelyn Tino; and by his two brothers: Raymond and Roland Tyler.

At Mr. Tyler’s request, there will be no calling hours or service.

Fernand A. Campbell, 83, of Orleans died on November 24, 2014, in Newport.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, at 4670 Darling Hill Road in Newport. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 28, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Orleans, with the Reverend Timothy Naples celebrating a Mass of Christian burial.
