Marguerite Marie Emma Ames
Marguerite Marie Emma Ames, 92, of Morgan passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family around her on January 6, 2013. She was born on December 26, 1920, in Johnson, the daughter of Henry and Delores (Bergeron) Maynard, who predeceased her. On July 5, 1939, she married Alton Frederick Ames Sr. who predeceased her in September 2004.
She loved traveling to Maine with her husband. Mrs. Ames loved to cook, crochet, and spending time working on her rose bushes. She also loved her Reader’s Digest and daily bread books, and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three children: Anita Derosier of Newport, Alton Ames Jr. of Swanton, and Arthur Ames of Morgan. She was a proud grandmother of eight grandchildren: Carol Derosier and her partner, Leo, of Newport, Ronald Derosier Jr. of Newport, Mary Higginson and her husband, Robert, of Morgan, Lisa LaBounty and her husband, David Sr. of Derby, Melissa Wilcox and her partner, Richard, of Newport, Alton Ames III of North Dakota, Octavia Ames of North Dakota, and Michael Ames and his wife, Holly, of Ohio.
She has ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
She is also survived by two sisters and one brother and a special niece and her husband.
She was predeceased by her stepmother, Dorothy Maynard; by one sister and four brothers and her son-in-law, Hector Derosier Sr.
Graveside services will be held on July 5, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Clark Cemetery in Morgan.

Donna F. Boisvert
Donna F. Boisvert, 55, of Newport died peacefully on January 5, 2013, in Newport, surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 9, 1957, in Springfield, Massachusetts, a daughter of O. Harry and Blanche (Prue) French. On August 7, 1976, she married Larry Boisvert, who survives her.
Ms. Boisvert was secretary for the Border Lodge Credit Union. She held membership with St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Newport.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Boisvert, of Newport; by her children: Thomas Boisvert and his fiancé, Amanda Roberts, of Newport, and Andrew Boisvert and his wife, Corey, of North Troy; by her grandchild Shauna Boisvert; by her step-grandchildren: Aaron Sheltra and Ashley Sheltra; by her sisters and brothers: David French and his wife, JoAnn, of Newport, Robert French and his wife, Mary, of Springfield, James French and his wife, Patricia, of Springfield, Katherine French of Newport, Aileen Coulombe and her husband, Gerald, of Newport, and Julie Farioli and her husband, Dave, of Hampden, Massachusetts; by several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Ms. Boisvert was devoted to her family, who always came first in her life. Family was her joy, and she loved spending time with them at the lake, camping, and at frequent family gatherings. She loved music and enjoyed it when everyone would sing, share love and laughter. She treasured just being together, especially with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed making all those around her happy and was always there for whatever her family needed. She taught all how to love, laugh and cherish each other. All are blessed with her genuine family spirit.
Funeral services were scheduled to be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Newport, where a Mass will be celebrated. Spring interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Terry M. Colburn
Terry M. Colburn, 68, of Barton died in Newport on December 31, 2012, with his family at his side.
He was born on July 13, 1944, in Barton, a son of Maurice and Blanche (Badger) Colburn.
On August 4, 1962, he proudly married his loving wife of 50 years, Brenda Bickford, who survives him.
Mr. Colburn had many jobs over the years but was known as a large equipment operator. He worked many years for Calkins Sand and Gravel in Coventry. He worked for area town highway departments. He spent time logging, as well as running his own small engine repair shop. He also worked several years at the Barton Graded School as a custodian.
He and his wife, Brenda, enjoyed camping with friends and family in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Mr. Colburn enjoyed woodworking, tinkering on anything, and watching traffic from his front porch. One of his favorite pastimes was watching sports on TV, especially college football and basketball. He also loved his two dogs and their companionship. He derived great pleasure from spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Colburn, of Barton; by his children: Marvin Colburn and his wife, Rhonda, of Barton, Mark Colburn and his wife, Hope, of Glover, Kelita Colburn of Loris, South Carolina, and Konnie Perkins and her husband, Eric, of Westmore; by grandchildren Torre, Devin, and Lauren Colburn, and Brooke Perkins; by great-grandson Karson Meyer; by his brother Dick Colburn and his wife, Diane; his sisters Joyce Curtis and her friend, Dale, Gail Auger and her husband, Phillip, Cecile Randall and her husband, Charlie, Theresa Bonvouloir and her husband, Richard, and Beth Colburn.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Roy, and his sister Marilyn.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at Westlook Cemetery in Glover.

Marcella M. Collette
On December 13, 2012, our mother left this earth. Marcella M. Collette was born in Orleans on September 10, 1926, a daughter of Delphis and Juliette Souliere.
Growing up with ten brothers and sisters was a story within itself. She leaves two younger sisters: Sr. Carmel and Theresa and brother Beeb.
Mrs. Collette married the love of her life, Philip R. Collette. who predeceased her exactly six months to the day. They celebrated their sixty-fifth anniversary in Florida where they had lived in harmony since 1980. Their summers at Shadow Lake camp, “ Luvithere,” were many, and their family visited often to see their parents and grandparents until the trips north proved to be too much.
Mrs. Collette had three sons: Richard and his wife, Joyce, of North Carolina, David and Kathleen of North Carolina, and Mark and his wife, Dee-dee, of Orleans. She was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her education was at Orleans and Sacred Heart High School, and her working life started at the local pharmacy, her father’s businesses and the Orleans Commission Sales for brother Joe.
For the next 20-plus years she was a partner with her husband, operating Phil Collette Plumbing and Heating in Orleans. About 40 years ago, she was awarded a special honor from the Lions Club as Citizen of the Year as she was recognized for donating a kidney to her brother “Gassy,” which was quite a gift. Putting others before herself reflected her strong faith in God, which helped her to be well prepared for her day of reckoning. This inner strength was evident as her challenges were met every day for the last two years.
Mom was an awesome quilter and won many blue ribbons at the local fair. Her quilts will be cherished by the family. We admire our mother for many reasons but the fact that she accomplished so much throughout her life — a marriage that worked, a family to be proud of, over 30 years of retirement, returning to her home in Orleans with her independence just in time for Thanksgiving. She didn’t ask for much — her own kitchen, laptop for her e-mails, and a lot of family and friends to share her remaining days back home, just taking care of business. Many times we heard one of her favorite sayings:
“Yesterday is history
Tomorrow a mystery
Today is a gift
That’s why we call it the present.”
The care she received from her family, special friends, Home Health and the Visiting Nurse Association, professional health providers and many others was admirable and will always be remembered.
Funeral arrangements will be at the family’s earliest convenience.
At this time, any gifts offered in her memory could be directed toward the Orleans County home health, hospice and Visiting Nurse Association organizations. Those people are indeed angels on earth who made the last days as comfortable as could be, special people indeed. Thanks to all of you!
Mom is at peace with Phil, family and friends and her spirit will always be with us. If anyone knows the words to an old Jimmy Durante song called “Side by Side,” the lyrics sum up her outlook of what is important in life. Wasn’t long ago we were singing it going down the road — she knew all the words.
Patrick Brien Corkins
Patrick Brien Corkins, 65, of Newport died suddenly on January 2, 2013, in Coventry.
He was born October 30, 1947, in Newport, a son of Rudolph and Vivian (Brien) Corkins. On June 14, 1970, he married Jo-Anne DeJoseph, who survives him. He graduated from Copaigue High School in 1965 in Long Island, New York.
Mr. Corkins was employed as a machinist at Tivoly in Derby Line. He retired from there on November 1, 2012.
He was a member of the local 1829 Machinist Union and the Derby Lanes Bowling League and the softball league. He loved to take his children and grandchildren fishing. He also loved to watch western movies on television and buy scratch tickets.
He is survived by his wife, Jo-Anne Corkins, of Newport; by his children: Patrick D. Corkins of Newport Center, Samantha L. Knight and her husband, Jeremiah, of Newport Center, and Cole Corkins and his wife, Samantha, of Newport Center; by his grandchildren: Patrick T, and Olivia Corkins, Deven, and Mattisen Knight, and Sophie Mae Corkins; by a brother, Dennis Corkins, and his wife, Luann, of Gouldsboro, Maine; and by several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers: Michael and Rudolph Corkins.
Funeral services were held at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Newport on January 8. Spring interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport.

Amanda L. Coull
Amanda L. Coull, 32, of North Troy died suddenly on January 1, 2013, in Newport.
She was born April 23, 1980, in Springfield, a daughter of Wilmer McVinney and the late Anita (Fortin) McVinney. She married Donald Coull, who survives her.
Ms. Coull enjoyed playing bingo and loved her children very much.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Coull, of Island Pond; by her children: Taylor B. Coull and Corbin Coull, both of North Troy; by her father, Wilmer McVinney, of New York; and by her two brothers: Patrick McVinney and his wife, Amanda, of New York, and Paul McVinney, also of New York.
She was predeceased by her mother, Anita McVinney, and by her sister Kathleen Malcolm.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Spring interment will be in Bellows Falls.

Lorna May (Christie) Coutts
Lorna May (Christie) Coutts, 89, of Boxborough, Massachusetts, died on December 30, 2012, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born in Melbourne, Quebec, Canada, on May 21, 1923, a daughter of the late Reuben and Madonna (Gereaux) Christie, and she was the wife of the late James Donald Coutts, who died in 2000, and the mother of the late Major James Bruce Coutts.
She moved to Island Pond at a young age and graduated from Brighton High School in Brighton. She moved to Massachusetts and graduated from Mt. Auburn School of Nursing in Cambridge in 1942. She then joined the U.S Army Nurse Corps as a first lieutenant in World War II, serving in Italy. She was married in 1947 and had made her home in Boxborough since 1961. Mrs. Coutts returned to Mt. Auburn Hospital as a supervisor of nursing for several years. She later worked with her husband at their business, J. Coutts and Son Company, now operating as Coutts Specialty Foods.
Mrs. Coutts is survived by four daughters: Lorna and her husband, Raymond Rush, of Littleton, Massachusetts, Alison Chateauneuf of Boxborough, Martha and her husband, Alfred Eisenberg, of Francestown, New Hampshire, and Janet L. Coutts of Westborough, Massachusetts; by two sisters: Norma Meredith of Island Pond and Roberta Lybrand of Hollywood, Florida; by her brother Robert and his wife, Irene Christie, of Island Pond; by seven grandchildren: Cydney Cotter, Wesley Rush, Cameron Chateauneuf, Graham Chateauneuf, Rachael Coutts, Stephanie Harris, and the late Evan Chateauneuf. She had seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on January 4 at the Badger Funeral Home in Littleton.

Robert “Bob” Everett Crouch Sr.
Robert “Bob” Everett Crouch Sr., 73, of Irasburg died suddenly on December 19, 2012, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital in Lebanon, New Hampshire, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Crouch was born at home on June 19, 1939, in North Haven, Connecticut, a son of the late Alan and Eleanor (Kripps) Crouch Sr. He was a 1957 graduate of North Haven High School in North Haven, Connecticut.
He married Shirley Flagg on September 8, 1962. A lifelong love story endured as Mr. and Mrs. Crouch recently celebrated their golden fiftieth wedding anniversary on September 8, 2012, with family and friends.
Mr. Crouch’s career as a heavy equipment crane operator brought him to nearly every city in the Northeast, building bridges, roadways, the World Trade Center twin towers in the 1960s, and most recently he completed work on the Ted Williams Tunnel as part of the Big Dig in Boston, Massachusetts. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union and Local 4 International Union of Operating Engineers.
In his younger years, Mr. Crouch was a volunteer lieutenant with the North Haven Fire Department. He enjoyed building things, and admired anyone who worked with their hands. He loved tractor pulling, restoring antique John Deere tractors, and gardening. He was also a comical storyteller who could make anyone laugh until they had tears in their eyes.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Crouch, of Irasburg; by his sons: Robbie Crouch Jr. of Lyndonville and Peter Crouch and his wife, Lysa, of Loudon, New Hampshire; his daughter Amy Crouch of Washington, D.C.; by his grandchildren: Brianna, Cody, Caroline and Thomas; by a brother, Ralph E. Crouch, and his wife, Maureen, of North Haven, Connecticut; and by his sister, Margaret Gunn and her husband, Frederick, of Wallingford, Connecticut.
He was predeceased by two brothers: his oldest brother, Alan Crouch Jr., and his youngest brother, Donald Crouch Sr. He leaves behind those two special sisters-in-law: Linda Pyle Mastroianni of Wallingford, and Linda Lawlor Crouch of Sunset Beach, North Carolina.
A celebration of his life will be held at 7 p.m. on May 17, 2013, at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home at 4670 Darling Hill Road in Newport. Friends may call on Friday, May 17, 2013, at the funeral home at 5 p.m.

Sister Cecile M. Fortin
Sister Cecile M. Fortin, FCSCJ (Sr. St. Reginald), a Daughter of the Charity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, died on December 30, 2012, at the Mount Sacred Heart Provincial House Infirmary in Littleton, New Hampshire, after a long illness.
She was born February 12, 1928, in Derby Line, a daughter of Cyrille Fortin and Albertina Lessard Fortin.
She professed her vows with her religious congregation on July 29, 1947. During her 65 years of religious profession, Sister Cecile served missions as an educator, religious formator, school administrator and congregational leader. Her missions took her to Sherbrooke, Quebec, Newport, Burlington, and Barre; Champlain, Buffalo, and Plattsburgh, New York; Franklin, Colebrook, and Littleton, New Hampshire; Seekonk, Massachusetts; La Salle-de-Vihiers, France; and Crowley, Louisiana.
Sister Cecile had a passion for learning and teaching that was contagious, whether the subject was French, theology, spirituality, or literacy and GED mentoring. Following 12 years on the congregation’s international leadership team, and having traveled the world, she readily gave herself to the challenge of working in proximity to the poor and underserved here in the U.S.
In her later years, Sister Cecile helped to establish the congregation’s presence in the Deep South, leaving St. Theresa Parish because of health reasons not long before hurricanes Katrina, Wilma and Rita ravaged that area. During these past few years of sharing life with the sisters at Mount Sacred Heart, Sister Cecile reveled in the beauty and cycles of nature, harvesting the fruit of the earth — berries, apples — and artistically arranging flowers picked from the fields and forests of the Mount Sacred Heart property.
Sister Cecile is survived by her brother Viateur and his wife, Rita; by sisters Bernadette, Rita Peterson, and Yollande Osowski; sisters-in-law Laurette, Jeanne, and Melvedine; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers Maurice, Alexandre, and Reginald; her brothers-in-law Allan Peterson and Walter Osowski; by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and her nephew Guy; and by her sisters in the religious community.
A Mass was celebrated in the Mount Sacred Heart Chapel with interment to take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Newport in the spring.

Alice Hayes
Alice Hayes, 87, died peacefully at home on December 17, 2012.
She was born August 5, 1925, in Hartford, Connecticut, a daughter of Oscar and Freda (Peterson) Benson. She graduated from William Hall High School and worked at the probate court in Hartford, Connecticut. In 1950 she married Mark John Hayes and moved to Enosburg Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Hayes were blessed with six children. They moved their family to Newport in 1971, upon establishing Hayes Ford.
She was predeceased by her husband, John, and her brother and sisters.
She is survived by her children and their families: Mark and Eva of Newport, Michael and Ivette of Maryland, Ann and Bill McGurn of Colorado, Susan of California, Mary Beth and David Mooney of Colchester, and Peter and Diana of California; by her grandchildren: Mike, Brock, Bryant and Sarah Hayes, Kit and Molly McGurn, David, Liz, Kyla and Liam Mooney, and Zach, Meagan and McKeena Hayes.
Mrs. Hayes enjoyed an abundance of friendships and made friends wherever she went. She was a well-respected and active member of both the Enosburg and Newport communities. She served on numerous boards and supported many charitable and community organizations. A gift to a favorite charitable organization in her memory would be a fitting tribute in lieu of flowers.

Adrienne Kells
When we got news that Aunt Adrienne (Kells) died in December I realized her death meant the end of a generation in our family. Our grandfather immigrated to Vermont in 1921 with his wife and three oldest children — Rene, Mamie and Adrienne. They bought a farm in Glover from Noble Clark on what was then known as Clark Hill.
As the years passed, the family grew. There were eight children born to Alfred and Noellia Perron. One son, Ronald, died in a tragic accident when he was two. The rest of the boys married and acquired farms in Glover. Roger, Donald and Norman had farms on the former Clark Hill, now known as Perron Hill. Rene acquired the farm on Route 16 with land bordering Perron Hill. All lived within minutes of each other. Mamie married and lived in Glover Village, and Blanche married and lived on Perron Hill. Adrienne was the only Perron child to leave Glover.
Adrienne Lillian Perron Kells died on December 11, 2012, in Chester, Connecticut.
She was born March 4, 1918, in Montreal, Quebec. She was the daughter of Alfred and Noellia (Morency) Perron. She married Kenneth Kells on August 19, 1939. They made their home in Branford, Connecticut, where she enjoyed her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Branford and was active in the women’s society there. She and her family would travel to Vermont regularly. Her visits were always looked forward to by her many nieces and nephews, who treasure their memories of Aunt Adrienne.
She is survived by her son James of North Branford, Connecticut; her daughter-in-law Judy Kells of Essex, Connecticut; her sisters-in-law Dorothy Perron and Almy Perron of Glover; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ken Kells; her son Ken Kells Jr.; her brothers: Rene, Roger, Donald, Ronald, and Norman Perron; and her sisters Mamie Pudvah and Blanche Benway.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013, at 11 a.m., during her favorite time of year — when the daffodils bloom. Stacey B. Lafoe
Stacey B. Lafoe of Concord, New Hampshire, and Key Largo, Florida, died peacefully on December 27, 2012. He was born on June 14, 1949, in Barton to Bernie L. Lafoe and Marjorie E. (Labor) Lafoe.
He spent most of his childhood in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. He graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy, after which he worked for Cabot Cheese and helped his dad deliver the products to various areas in New Jersey.
He raced cars in the NASCAR North Series when he began his collection of Dale Earnhardt memorabilia. He also worked for Ethan Allen Furniture before moving to Concord to drive for his sister Jacqueline (Paul’s Quick Lunch Truck). He also worked for Phoenix Construction driving heavy machinery, and retired from Graphic Packaging when the company moved to North Carolina.
He spent his retirement years working on and collecting antique cars, watching NASCAR races, sailing, boating, and fishing in the waters of Lake Winnipesauke, New Hampshire, and Key Largo.
He was a 23-year member of Orleans Sons of the American Legion squad No. 0023, past president of the Concord Fraternal Order of Eagles #613, a member of Concord VFW Post #1631, and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Key Largo Lodge #2287.
He leaves his sister, Jacqueline Audet, nieces, aunts, and many cousins.
He will be missed for his quick smile, his seasonal toys, and his Donald Duck talk to all the children as well as adults he made smile.
Burial of his ashes by his family will take place in the spring.

Gerald “Jerry” Latouche
Gerald “Jerry” Latouche, 87, of Island Pond died while visiting the home of his daughter Rita and her husband, Gary, in Illinois.
He was born April 7, 1925, in Island Pond, a son to Alphonse and Minnie Latouche. He was a World War II veteran and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Random Post #230 and the American Legion Brighton Post #80. He retired as a machinist from Butterfields and as a foreman at Dartmouth Woolen Mills.
Mr. Latouche was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer and card player. He enjoyed watching and supporting the Red Sox and Patriots. He truly enjoyed the family dogs and being around his family.
He is survived by five daughters and their spouses: Joan and her husband, Lorne LeClaire, of Pittsburg, New Hampshire, Jean and her husband, Duane Graveline, of Derby, Phyllis and Gary Ming of Island Pond, Rita and her husband, Gary Major, of Zion, Illinois, and Rena and her husband, Mark Ellingwood, of Newark; by the following grandchildren: Kirk and Jennifer, Paul, John, Matthew, Jennifer and Muzafar, Tiffany, and Thomas and Jennifer; by great-grandchildren: Kyle, Allison, Andrew, Kaleb, Brianna, Christian, Michelle, Alexandra, Ahmed, and Myah; by stepgrandchildren: Jenny, Nick, Jenis and Joe, and Aimee; and by step great-grandchild Madison and special friend Jay; by siblings Jerry, Gladys and Richard, Betty, Lorraine, Roger and Dot, Claire and Jim, Rodney and Belle; and by several nieces and nephews from the Latouche and Michaud families.
His wife, Pauline, whom he had been married to for 55 years; his grandson Richard; his brother Richard; and step great-granddaughter Courtney predeceased him.

Madeleine Lucia Lepage
Madeleine Lucia Lepage, 93, of Newport died on January 2, 2013, in Derby.
She was born June 3, 1919, in Rimouski, Quebec, a daughter of Thomas and Alma (Leclerc) Vignola. On July 7, 1937 she married Leonard Lepage, who predeceased her on March 25, 1980.
Mrs. Lepage was a self-employed seamstress. She made wedding dresses, and did different types of upholstery. She also enjoyed knitting.
She is survived by her son Robert Lepage and his companion, Joan Brunell, of Derby; by her grandchildren: Carrie Switser and her husband, Elvin, of Sutton, Cory Lepage and his partner, Mario Gonzalez Jr., of Anchorage, Alaska, Lisa Lepage of Fairview, Tennessee, Brian Lepage and his wife, Kim, of Fairview, Tennessee; by her great-grandchildren: Bryson and Emma Lepage and Christine-Rae Switser; by step-granddaughter Rhonda Patenaude and her husband, Danny, and their children: Michael, Tyler and Taylor of Derby Line; by her sisters: Jeanne Proux of Rimouski, Quebec, Sister Lorette Vignola of Salmon Lake, Quebec, and Giselle Chenard of Bic, Quebec; by numerous nieces and nephews; and by her special friends: Raymond Patenaude of Newport and Christine Reed of Orleans.
She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers: Raoul, Emanuel, and Narcisse Vignola, Martha Vignola, Blanche Brien and Jean d’Arc Vignola, Philomine Banville, and Alphonsine Vignola; and by her son Bertrand Lepage on June 10, 1993.
Funeral services were held on January 5 at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Newport where a Mass was celebrated. Spring interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery on Friday, May 17, 2013, at 11 a.m.

Lyman E. Locke Sr.
Lyman E. Locke Sr. 88, beloved father, died on December 17, 2012, at the Greensboro Nursing Home in Greensboro.
Mr. Locke was born on March 21, 1924, a son of Earl and Helen Locke of Pike, New Hampshire. Mr. Locke graduated from Haverhill Academy in Haverhill, New Hampshire. On September 15, 1942, he married Jean Rogers, who predeceased him.
Mr. Locke logged out of the Pike area and was a dairy farmer in Fairlee, Norwich, and Brandon. After retiring in 1978 he moved to Albany, where he was part of the town water department. He enjoyed snowmobiling, maple sugaring, and gardening. In 2005 he moved to the Craftsbury Community Care Center with his wife, Jean.
He leaves behind his daughters: Nina Brigham and her husband, Marshall, of Cleveland, Georgia, Judith Mello and her husband, Manning, of Dahlonega, Georgia, Rosalie Berkey and her husband, Kenneth, of Summerfield, North Carolina; a son, Lyman E. Locke Jr., and his wife, Deborah, of Albany; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The newest addition to his family, born on October 31, 2012, was great-granddaughter Lily Jean Locke-McAllister, daughter of Angela M. Locke-McAllister and her husband, Ben McAllister of Albany, sister to great-grandaughter Emma and Seth Locke-McAllister.
Services will be held in the spring of 2013 in Haverhill.

James A. McAllister
James A. McAllister Jr., 68, of Derby died on December 20, 2012, in Newport.
He was born March 29, 1944, in Lowell, a son of James and Delima (Therriault) McAllister Sr.
On July 12, 1968, he married Brenda Smith, who survives him. Mr. McAllister was raised on a farm and served in the U.S. Army as a medic in Germany during the Vietnam War. He moved to Connecticut for 17 years where he made and designed jewelry for Napier Company. He returned to Vermont where he was employed for 17 years at Ethan Allen Manufacturing in Orleans before his illness.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, working with his hands, and getting together with friends and family. He was a very quiet man who loved his family, his dog and his puzzle books. He really appreciated the wonderful care he received from the Orleans-Essex Visiting Nurses Association and Hospice and the doctors and nurses who came to his home when he could no longer travel.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda McAllister, of Derby; by his children: Valerie Keith of Beebe Plain, Kathleen Patrick and her husband, Harold, of Newport, Sheila Baraw and her husband, Anthony, of Troy, and Peter McAllister and his wife, Peggy, of Derby; by his grandchildren: Cory, Aubrey, Christopher, Kytreana, Keira, Nicole, Brooke, Taylor, Abigail and Emily; by his sisters: Christine Fippinger and her partner, Ed, of Torrington, Connecticut, Suzanna Ruokonen of Brookfield, Connecticut, Blanche Coulombe and her husband, Roger, of Essex Junction, Rose Philip and her husband, Bill, of Milton, Bertha Ostrowski of Meridianville, Georgia, and Virginia Raymond of North Creek, New York; sisters-in-law Barbara McAllister of Deltona, Florida, and Linda McAllister of Torrington, Connecticut; and by brothers-in-law Art McDonald and Vincent Brophy.
He was predeceased by a son, Jason; by his brothers Bill and Tom; and by the following sisters: Catherine, Marie, Beatrice, and Jennie.

Irene F. (Chic) Nager
Irene F. (Chic) Nager, 76, of Newport died suddenly on January 4, 2013, in Newport.
She was born August 29, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of Eugene and Irene (Scott) Dwyer. She married Vincent Riccio, who predeceased her 15 years ago.
Mrs. Nager enjoyed reading and doing puzzles. Her family was her greatest joy and she was a very giving mother, grandmother and aunt. She was a police officer for the city of Sunrise, Florida, where she retired after 22 years of service.
She was employed for over 20 years at the former Snow Goose and Margie’s Hallmark in Newport, where she was very well liked by the customers.
She is survived by her children: Jean Marie Riccio of Newport and Louis Riccio of Bellows Falls; by her grandchildren: Sean Riccio of Seattle, Washington, and Adam Nager and his wife, Heather, of Florida; by her brother Eugene Dwyer and his wife, Kathy, of New York; by her sisters: Elaine Cullen and her husband, Robert, of Illinois and Patricia Burke of Texas; and by many Irish nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Jane Donnelly.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home at 4670 Darling Hill Road in Newport. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Newport where a Mass will be celebrated.

Vernon Glenn Patrick
Vernon Glenn Patrick, 73, of Hardwick died on January 1, 2013, at his home in Hardwick, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 11, 1939, in Brownington, a son of Harold and Olive (Martin) Patrick. He grew up in Brownington and joined the National Guard on February 25, 1963. He served for three years, six months and 21 days. Additionally, he performed eight weeks of basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Mr. Patrick was a hardworking man. He worked at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe for many years. After that, he worked at Squash Valley in Waterbury. His largest impact was at his most recent position at People’s Academy in Morrisville. There, he touched the lives of so many students and faculty they even dedicated the 2012 yearbook to him.
Mr. Patrick wed Linda Stevens in 1969. They were happily married for 12 years, until she died in December of 1981. They had four children: Duke, Paula, James, and Mike. Mr. Patrick remarried in 1994 to Beverly (Cady) Patoine. They were happily married for 18 years, but were together for many years prior. Ms. Patoine brought two stepchildren into Mr. Patrick’s life: Peggy and Joey. Mr. Patrick was a family man. He enjoyed helping his children in any respect that involved getting his hands dirty. He enjoyed building things and being there for everyone in any way he could. His smile could light up a room and his laughter will be missed.
Mr. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Olive; his brothers Glenn and Paul; and by a son, Vernon Patrick Jr., in 1973.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Patrick, of Hardwick; his mother-in-law Nellie Cady; his brother Pat of Kentucky; his sisters: Betty Gravel and her husband, Robert, of Woodbury, Edie Stevens of Orleans, and Nancy Wright and her husband, Aldos, of Littleton, New Hampshire; by his children: son Duke Patrick and his wife, Kathy, of Newport, daughter Paula Mallo and her husband, Gary Sr., son James Patrick and his wife, Etta, and son Michael Patrick and his wife, Jennifer, all of Hardwick; by a stepdaughter with his first wife, Linda: Ailiya who lives in Florida with her husband, David, and daughters Amanda, Megan, Morgan and Codie; and by grandchildren Michael, Michelle, Maddison, Erin, Sabrina, Makayla, Linda, Tiffany, Gary Jr., Christopher, Kytreana, Emma, Thomas, Gracie, Brian, Anthony, and Benjamin. Mr. Patrick was even lucky enough to meet two great-grandchildren: Chase and Connor.
Funeral services were held on January 5 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Newport.

Beverly A. Plante
Beverly A. Plante, 72, of Bristol, Connecticut, died suddenly at her home on Saturday, December 29, 2012.
She was born on January 21, 1940, in Barton, a daughter of the late Albert and Pearl (Johnson) Blouin.
For years, Mrs. Plante worked in a machine shop in Forestville, Connecticut, buffing and polishing, and later in life she worked and retired from Harvest Investments Apartments. She enjoyed playing Bingo, setback and cribbage, singing and dancing, and attended St. Gregory Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Real and Tracey Plante of Bristol; her daughter and son-in-law Debra and Eric Wojewoda of Terryville, Connecticut; her grandchildren, Kristen Plante of Florida, Victoria Wojewoda of Terryville and Katie Vezina of Vermont; her longtime companion, John Sawe, of Bristol; her sister and brother-in-law Betty and Armand Fontaine of Vermont; her sister-in-law Pat Blouin of Bristol; and her nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Camille J. Plante; her stepson Ronnie LaCourse; and her brothers Robert and Raymond Blouin.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Robert S. Pomeroy
Robert S. Pomeroy of Derby died on December 21, 2012, in Derby.
He was born December 24, 1927, in Newport, a son of Benjamin and Marjorie (Shorey) Pomeroy. On October 30, 1996, he married Corrine Bergmann, who survives him.
Mr. Pomeroy was a car inspector for the Canadian Pacific Railroad where he retired in 1987. He held membership with the Masonic Union Lodge #65 F&AM and he enjoyed all types of sports. He loved to follow his grandson’s progress while he was playing for the Hershey Bear Hockey Team in Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife, Corrine Pomeroy, of Wausau, Wisconsin; by his children: Linda Parsons of Derby, Susan Kane of Derby, Carole Emond and her husband, Carl, of Hyde Park, and David Pomeroy of Berkshire; by nine grandchildren: Emily Morse, Ben Parsons and his wife, Tiffany, Maggie Parsons, Allie Parsons, Nathan Kane, Crystal Poulin and her husband, Jason, Graham Mink and his wife, Christina, Robert Mink, and Andrew Mink; by 11 great-grandchildren; and by two sisters: Louise Devereaux of Lyndonville and Frances Parker of Traverce, Florida.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Pierrette Lamaire, in 1995; by his brother Paul Pomeroy; and by his sisters Josie Sherrer and Mildred Kendall.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Derby Center Cemetery.

Oscar Robitaille
Oscar Robitaille, 96, of Derby died peacefully on December 28, 2012, in Derby.
He was born October 16, 1916, in St. Thomas, Quebec, a son of Dominick and Victoria (St. Peter) Robitaille. On December 17, 1940, he married Cecile Perrault, who predeceased him on April 17, 2008.
Mr. Robitaille entered the U.S. Navy where he served his country during World War II. He lived most of his life in Connecticut where he was a painter and landscaper and retired to Vermont 24 years ago. He was a member of St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #21, both of Newport.
He is survived by his daughters: Betty Smith and Barbara Evon, both of Waterbury, Connecticut; by his five grandchildren: Fred Smith, Chris Smith, Shanna Wilkins, Scott Wilkins, and Jason Evon; by five great-grandchildren: Alex Smith, Brandon Claudio, Ivan Claudio, Nadia Evon, and Paige Evon; by his brother Harvey Robitaille and his wife, Beverly, of Newport; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son-in-law Earl Evon.
Funeral services and interment will take place in the spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Newport with full military honors.

Robert Preston Rollins
Robert Preston Rollins, 73, of Hyde Park died on December 28, 2012, in Palm City, Florida, with his daughters at his side.
He was born to the late Leah (Thurston) and Mark Preston Rollins on January 16, 1939.
Mr. Rollins grew up on Crystal Lake in Barton. He graduated from Barton Academy, going on to a degree in accounting and finance from the University of Vermont in 1960 and later completed a graduate program at Pace University in New York City.
In 1959, he and Polly Klemtner married and eventually settled in Stowe, where they raised their three daughters. They enjoyed active participation in Stowe’s lively social, civic, and sporting activities. Along with owning and expanding the Barrows, Mercia, and Rollins Insurance Agency of Morrisville, Mr. Rollins also served 29 years as a director on the board of the Union Bank of Vermont. He joined his friends and colleagues in supporting and promoting community efforts in fund-raising for local charitable organizations.
In addition to his public efforts, Mr. Rollins, in a quiet and modest way, helped many in need. For the past 15 years he made his home in Hyde Park, at his summer camp on Lake Memphremagog in Canada, and wintered in Florida. An avid golfer, a happy hunter, and good fisherman, he also found time to enjoy the quieter sports of the card table and the cribbage board. Of all of the sports, he enjoyed — boating, skiing, fishing, hunting — he seemed happiest when he was golfing, attending golf tournaments, or even watching golf on TV. The sun and the golfing possibilities drew him to spending as much time in Florida as he could, first, in the Florida Keys where super fishing and golf competed for his time, and, then a little further north where living on the 16/17th fairway of his golf home in Palm City satisfied him greatly.
Mr. Rollins leaves three daughters: Leslie Rollins of Naples, Florida, Karen Sherman Weeks and her husband, Tom Weeks, of Morrisville, and Donna Pentrack of Tarpon Springs, Florida; his friend and constant companion from many years ago, Jacquelyn Sheehan Schultz; five grandchildren: Kyle Walker, Kristin Walker, Leah Sherman, Abby Sherman, and Meghan Pentrack; two great-granddaughters: Charlotte Walker and Sequoia Primmer; sister-in-law Jane Rollins; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his brother William Rollins.
A memorial service was held on January 5 at the Second Congregational Church of Hyde Park followed by a gathering at the Stone Grill Pub in Morrisville.
