Steve Merrill said he was surprised that Governor Phil Scott’s press office didn’t check up on his show before allowing him to ask questions at bi-weekly press briefings. He was equally surprised when, on February 3, he heard from the Governor’s office that he had been banned from further participation in the broadcast press conferences.
“I kept emailing Tod and said, have they called you, have they called you, you know, have they reached out to you yet,” Mr. Merrill said Monday about his initial request to join the briefings. “And they never did.”
