Meet the new store same as the old store

NEWPORT — A new natural food store recently opened on Main Steet here.  It closely resembles the store that occupied the same space in the old Montgomery Ward building until a few days ago.  The resemblance is heightened by the fact that the entire staff of the old store is running the new one.

Although the outside signs remain for the time being, Newport Natural is gone and in its place is Green Mountain Natural Foods. The transition has been seamless, although many shoppers noted that familiar items weren’t being restocked.  That was in preparation for the change….
