Cecile Annette (Lamarche) Fluet

Cecile Annette (Lamarche) Fluet, 90, of Derby Line died on March 9, 2011, in Newport.
She was born June 23, 1920, in St. Thomas d’Alfred, Ontario, a daughter of Joseph and Marie Laure (Charbonneau) Lamarche.
Mrs. Fluet farmed for Earl Hackett, worked at Indian Head Plywood, and retired from Butterfield’s in 1985.  She enjoyed cooking, making big meals for her family, dancing, playing cards, and working in her vegetable garden.  She also had a love for horses.
She is survived by her children:  Sue Gagne and her husband, Patrick, of Derby Line, Mary McCabe and her husband, Robert, of East Hartford, Connecticut, Andre Boissonnault and his wife, Ginette, of Springfield, Gerald Boissonnault of East Falmouth, Massachusetts, Marcel Boissonnault and his wife, Darlene, of Cambridge, Bobby Boissonnault and his wife, Linda, of East Falmouth; by 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Marie Laure Lamarche; by husbands Roland Fluet, Romeo Meunier, and Paul Boissonnault; by her son Rene Boissonnault and his wife, Jeanne; and by four sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services were held on March 14 at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Derby Line where a Mass was celebrated.  Spring interment will be in St. Edward’s Cemetery.

Betty Glodgett
Betty Glodgett of Brownington died on March 10, 2011.  She left this world, as we know it, fighting, the last of five siblings.
She was a daughter of Dora (Stokes) Owen and Isac Edward Owen of Laurel Hill, Florida.
Born in 1936, she married U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Sergeant Royce Glodgett in 1954.  They made their home in Brownington.
She leaves four children:  William Glodgett of Brownington, John Glodgett and his wife, Susan, of Barton, Peggy Glodgett and Gary Ewen of Woodbury, and Nancy Sweeney and her husband, Carrol, of Albany; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be at the convenience of the family, graveside in Brownington Village.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brownington Village Cemetery Fund, care of Town of Brownington, Brownington, Vermont 05860.

Orison R. Hoadley Jr.

Orison R. Hoadley Jr., 57, also known as J.R., of Derby died in the early morning hours of March 10, 2011, in Burlington surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Mr. Hoadley was the first child of the late Orison R. Sr. and Dorothy (Stevens) Hoadley.
On March 6, 1976, he married Judy Nason who survives him.  He grew up in Evansville and he enjoyed driving his cars, fishing, shooting guns, and chasing the girls.
He was a wholesaler for local auto dealerships.  He owned K and A Taxi Service in Newport, and he also had a scrap removal business.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Hoadley, of Derby; by daughters Kelly Turgeon and her husband, Larry, of Irasburg, and Annie Hoadley of Derby and her  former husband, Dale Crews Jr., of Orleans; by his grandchildren Melissa and Katelyn Turgeon; and by the following brothers and sisters:  Steve Hoadley and his wife, Robie, of Evansville, Ronald Hoadley and his companion, Theresa Bernier, of Evansville, Becky Gale and her husband, Bill, of Brownington, Barbara Warner and her friend, Cecil Davison, of Brownington; by half sister Mona Bent and her husband, Leonard, of Orleans; and by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.  He was predeceased by infant son Orison John Paul Hoadley on September 1, 1985.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 18, at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home at 4670 Darling Hill Road in Newport with Pastor Dan Prue officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from noon until the hour of the funeral. Spring interment will be in the Brownington Center cemetery.

Marielle Theresa Morin

Marielle Theresa Morin, 79, of Derby died peacefully on March 11, 2011, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on June 14, 1931, in Holland, a daughter of Rufus and Dorilda (Lussier) Patenaude.
On August 6, 1951, she married Gaston Morin who predeceased her on August 2, 1973.
She and her husband farmed in West Charleston until he died and later moved to Derby where she established Morin Development.  Throughout the years she also had a childcare service.
Mrs. Morin enjoyed sewing, cooking, and working in her flower gardens.  She was very proud of her home and what it offered and loved being there.  She was also especially proud of her children and their accomplishments.  They were taught to work for what they wanted, to be considerate and respectful of others, and to be there for one another.  She was able to see these values passed on to her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving children: Michael Morin and his wife, Gail, of Keene, New Hampshire, Claire Houghton and her husband, Burkett (Bubba), of Morgan, Denis Morin and his wife, Carole, of Windsor, Larry Morin and his companion, Fae Kerr, of Derby, Bobby Morin and his wife, Faye, of Derby, Linda Nadeau and her husband, Marc, of Newport, and Kathy Monty and her husband, Greg, of Newport Center; by her cherished (20) grandchildren:  Valerie, Marielle, Jonathan, David, Ryan, Gaston, Mitchell, Landen, Colby, Tiffany, Ashley, and Shelby Morin, Jacques and Hailey Nadeau, Nick and Trevor Monty, Deanna Clark and her husband, Samuel, Matthew Houghton and his companion, Alicia Wheeler, Daniel Houghton and his fianceé, Melissa Labor; and by her cherished great-grandchildren Olivia Houghton and Aurora Clark; by the following brothers and sisters: Raymond Patenaude of Newport, Joseph Patenaude and his wife, Lucille, of Derby, Leo Patenaude and his wife, Mercedes of Newport Center, Jeannie Lague and her husband, Bert, of Derby Line, Anita LaFleur of Orleans, Rose Gravel of Valcourt Quebec, Cecile Wheeler and her husband, Merle, of Derby, and Rita Gobeil and her husband, Raymond, of West Charleston; by sisters-in-law Carmen Morin of Newport, Simone Menard of Newport Center, and Agathe Morin of Holland; and by numerous nieces and nephew and great-nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Gaston Morin; by grandson Payton Monty; brothers Omer, Peter, and Larry Patenaude; and by brothers- and sisters-in-law John LaFleur, Jacques Gravel, Jean Paul Morin, Harvey Menard, Leonard Morin, Cecile Morin, Reginald Morin, Roger Morin, and Gisile Pepin.
Funeral services were held on March 15 at the St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Derby Line where a Mass was celebrated.  Spring interment will be at the St. Edward’s Cemetery in Derby Line, to be scheduled in May.

Jose R. Perrault

Jose R. Perrault, 47, died on March 12, 2011, in Newport.
He was born on October 28, 1963, a son of Robert and Rose Ange (Lanctot) Perrault of Newport Center.
He graduated from North Country Union High School in the class of 1982.  In school he joined DECA, the school board, and Newport Ambulance Service, becoming the youngest EMT at that time.  After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving in Navy hospitals in Naples, Italy, and Charleston, South Carolina.
He left the Navy in 1986 to work for his parents in the recycling business, operating in the St. Johnsbury company.  Then he joined UPS as a driver, moving up to become an international account executive.  In June of 1999 he earned his bachelor of arts degree from Norwich University. He left UPS for a job as a federal agent in the Federal Motor Carrier Administration where he worked until he died.
He also worked a secondary position as the bar manager for American Legion Post #21 of Newport which he was very active in.  He also held membership in the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeries #4329.  He enjoyed cruising, returning  this past summer to Italy.  Mr. Perrault loved hanging out with his friends and family.  He had a great sense of humor that put a smile on everyone’s face.  He will be sadly missed.
He leaves his parents, Robert and Rose Ange Perrault, of Newport Center; his devoted partner of 20 years, Rick Besaw, of Newport Center; his brothers:  Carl Perrault and his wife, Sheryl, and Bruno Perrault and his wife, Theresa, all of Newport Center; his sister who was like his second mom and best friend, Manon Perrault and her husband, Sonny Sloan, of Newport Center; Mr. Besaw’s family; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, aunts, and uncles, cousins and his many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Newport where a Mass will be celebrated.  Military honors will follow at the church.  A gathering and a luncheon will follow at the American Legion Post #21 of Newport.

Felicia (Flis) Woolsey

Felicia (Flis) Woolsey, 59, of East Charleston died on March 7, 2011, in Newport.
She was born on July 11, 1951, in Manhattan, New York, a daughter of John and Mary Flis.
She received a bachelor’s degree in education from St. John’s University and a master’s degree in education from the University of Vermont.
Ms. Woolsey was an educator who will long be remembered in her community for her sense of humor, storytelling ability, and love of life.  She was passionate about teaching her students life skills including how to write well, communicate ideas effectively, and enjoy good literature.  Former students often visited her to express their gratitude for the ways that she touched their lives and the lessons she imbued.
Even as Ms. Woolsey faced serious health problems, her courage and sense of humor always shone through.  Her insatiable curiosity transformed her medical issues into opportunities to learn and reflect on the complexities and beauty of life.  Her storytelling ability always highlighted the humor she saw in even her most trying experiences.  Above all, we will all miss the joy of being in her presence and the privilege of being a part of her narratives — as audience and actors.
She is survived by all those who loved her:  her husband, Bill Woolsey; brother John Flis; nieces Tatiana Flis and Ariana Nester; mother-in-law Dolores Woolsey, sisters-in-law Phyllis Triarsi and Susan Sova; her beloved dog Harris; and many many more.
A celebration of her life will be held this spring (her favorite season).
