Charlotte M. Barker

Charlotte M. Barker, 73, of Newport died suddenly on May 28, 2012, at her home.
She was born on August 20, 1938, in Portland, Oregon, a daughter of Harry and Marjorie (Brearey) French.  On May 27, 1960, she married Charles Barker who survives her.
Mrs. Barker sold Avon products for 25 years in both Maine and New York.
She enjoyed cooking, especially making pies, and the company of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Charles Barker of Newport; by her sons:  Charles Barker III and his wife, Judith, of Morrisville, North Carolina, and David Nitsch and his wife, Sharon, of Avon, New York; and by the following grandchildren:  Eric, Ryan, Kevin, Alex, Christine, and Matthew.  She is also survived by her brother Paul Brearey of Kentucky; by her sister Joanne Brearey of Syracuse, New York; and by several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a son, Richard Nitsch.
Services will be held at a later date in Avon.

Marcel K. Black

Marcel K. Black, 87, of Hewitt, New Jersey, died on Thursday, May 17, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.
His death ended a 21-month battle with lung cancer, which he fought with grace, dignity, humor and acceptance.
His talent for writing served his career as a technical writer, but also entertained and enlightened family and friends with his essays, letters and poetry.  His love of reading, coupled with his amazing memory, lasted his entire life.
He made great use of the struggles in his own life by supporting and accepting the brokenness in others.  His children try to emulate his calm approach to unexpected troubles, and the faith that all will work out.
He loved the road, driving great distances and spending time with loved ones around the USA and Canada, even traveling to Uganda in 2009 with his church mission group.
Born the youngest of seven siblings (Wendell, Catherine, Thelma, Frances, Tom, Madeline) in Coleman, Michigan, on January 18, 1925, to Archibald F. Black and Janet McFee Black, he grew up in Michigan and attended Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  There he met the love of his life, Dorothy.  They were married on August 19, 1950, in Saginaw, Michigan, after their graduation.
Mr. Black and his wife, strong and faithful Catholics, raised their family, numbering 11 children, in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and New Jersey.  All surviving Mr. Black, they are Rosemary and her husband, Steven Lopez, of Pleasantville, New York, Chris and his wife, Pamela, of South Orange, New Jersey, Maryellen and her husband, Jeff Albanese, of Goshen, New York, Janie and her husband, Denny Powers, of Scarborough, Maine, Peggy and her husband, Glenn Savage, of South Orange, Dorothy and her husband, Tim Barnes, of Hewitt, Nancy and her husband, Ron Tompkins, of Annandale, New Jersey, Paul and his wife, Joanne, of Newton, New Jersey, John and his wife, AraLyn, of Takaka, New Zealand, Barbara and her husband, Steve Price, of Scarborough, and Betsy Black of Maplewood, New Jersey.
After raising their children, they relocated to their beloved Highland Lakes, New Jersey, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  Mrs. Black, an accomplished lawyer, died suddenly in 1996, after which Mr. Black remained the glue binding his family together.
On September 20, 2003, he married Huguette (Desjardins) McA’Nulty of Orleans.
He is survived by Ms. McA’Nulty and her children:  Debbie and her husband, Paul Cianciulli, Celeste and her husband, David Molnar, Andrew McA’Nulty, Matthew and his wife, Catherine, and James McA’Nulty.  He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held on May 22 in Highland Lakes.  Interment followed in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Hardyston Township, New Jersey.

Andru Dell “Andy” Johnson

Andru Dell “Andy” Johnson, 29, of East Charleston died suddenly on May 27, 2012, in Newport.
He was born on November 27, 1982, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  He graduated from North Country Union High School in the Class of 2001 and later completed an electrical journeyman course and became a licensed electrician.
He enjoyed building things, tinkering around the house and he played soccer during his school years.
He was known for his wonderful sense of humor, kindness, striving for sense of peace and dedication to everything he did.  We love you darling, your family.
He will be missed more than the heart can bear by his parents:  Debi and Neil Mead; and by his precious daughter Rabecka.  Sharing in profound grief are his brothers and their families:  James, Philip and Bo Johnson; his maternal grandparents:  Brenda and Bob Thomas; his stepbrothers:  Christopher and Joseph Mead; and his nieces and nephews:  Kaydence and Blane Johnson, Lauren, Jacqueline, Caroline, Joey, and Owen Mead.  He was dearly loved by his aunts and uncles and their families:  Kristin and Terry Webb, Dale Mead, Mike and Judy Mead, Sarah and James Moulton, and Ida and Bob Davio.  He will also be mourned by his dear friend Andrea Royer and her family; and by his many dear friends.
Funeral services were held on June 2 in Newport.

Gerald H. (Jerry) LeMoine

Gerald H. (Jerry) LeMoine died on May 29, 2012, in Glover.
He was a resident of Union House Nursing Home in Glover for the past four months.  He died peacefully with friends at his side.
Mr. LeMoine was born in St. Johnsbury in 1918, son of Fred and Ruth (Wheeler) LeMoine.  He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and served on the U.S.S. Massachusetts until he was wounded and was honorably discharged in October of 1945.
He worked in New Haven, Connecticut, at the Winchester Repeating Arms and also at Goodyear Tire.  He also worked as a maintenance and painting contractor at Jay Peak and for Francis McDowell, a painting contractor in St. Johnsbury.
He married Charlotte Hall who predeceased him.  They had two sons:  Forrest and Bradley.
He married Carol on October 1, 1992, the love of his life, so he used to say.  They took many trips to Wells, Maine.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing, his friends and rides in the country.  He loved making people laugh, especially his caregiver Bonnie.
He leaves his wife Carol; his sons:  Forrest LeMoine and his wife, Melanie, of Shelburne, and Bradley LeMoine and his friend, Debbie Lawrence, of Greensboro; by his stepchildren:  Joe Hall of Waltham, Massachusetts, Ginny Perry and her husband, Wilfred, of Brownington, Jon and Jane Hall of Pennsylvania, and Beatrice and Bill Boyden of Townsend, Massachusetts; by his grandchildren: Jeremy LeMoine and Lucas and his wife, Rose, of Florida, Marisha of Shelburne, Lilly, Bailey and Zoe of Brownington, Aislin, Elisabeth and Riley of Townsend, Tref Hall of Marion, Pennsylvania, and Ceilidgh, and Devany of Massachusetts; and a very dear friend and care giver, Bonnie Young.  He is also survived by a niece, Carol, and her husband, Bernie, of Tolland, Connecticut, and by many friends.  He was predeceased by a sister, Alene.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Lyndonville Cemetery in Lyndonville on Saturday, June 16, at 1:30 p.m., with the Reverend Donald Vincent officiating.  A luncheon will follow at the Glover Community Church.

John P. Murphy

John P. Murphy of Craftsbury Common died on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, after a 20-year fight with Parkinson’s disease.
He was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 1927, to John and Mary Murphy.
Mr. Murphy went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Villanova University (’50), a master’s degree from Yale University (’63), and professional master’s degree from Harvard University Graduate School (’63).  He began his banking career at First National Citibank in 1951, going on to become a distinguished international banker, holding executive positions throughout Latin America, Australia, Europe, Canada, New York and Florida until retiring to Vermont in 1985.
Mr. Murphy remained active, serving on a number of boards and working on his land.  His orchard was a source of particular pride and gave him immense pleasure.
While working in Santiago, Chile, during the 1950s, Mr. Murphy met his wife of 57 years, Lucia Anwandter with whom he had five children:  Peter, Kathleen, Clare, Anthony (who is now deceased), and Anne; and eight grandchildren.  He is survived by his sister Kathleen; and by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on May 26.  Interment followed in Craftsbury Common Cemetery.

Committal services for Florence (Swett) Guyette will be held on Saturday, June 9, at 10 a.m. at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Lowell.
