In Derby. Food to return to Town Meeting

DERBY — Town Meeting is a reflection of  community.  With that in mind a Derby resident approached the select board at its Monday meeting and proposed adding something to the town gathering in March.  When they considered the idea both the board and the resident found they may be simply reviving a forgotten tradition.

Allyson Howell brought up the issue during the public comment portion of the select board meeting, but her question generated interesting discussion in an otherwise brief meeting.

Ms. Howell asked if there can be some simple food at the annual Town Meeting.

“It’d be so fun if we had some soup,” Ms. Howell said.  She explained that she works in the community with food …
