Hospital weathering storm sees fair weather ahead

NEWPORT — Friends of North Country Hospital met at the East Side Restaurant here on January 19 and heard about the organization’s difficulties, accomplishments, and future plans.

The hospital has had financial difficulties in the past couple of years, said both board chair Frank Knoll and the interim managing officer Tracey Paul, but overall the mood in the room was bright for the first in-person meeting in a few years.

Mr. Knoll noted as much, recalling the necessity of online meetings during the COVID pandemic.  He termed the get-togethers on ZOOM as “Hollywood Squares.”..
