NEWPORT — Objects from the past hold nostalgic value.  Be they old movies on video tape, records on vinyl, or any other medium of a bygone age, there’s a special feeling that comes with revisiting sights and sounds that once enthralled us.  Video games can evoke those feeling, now that an older generation of gamers is old enough to look back lovingly at the games they once played.  A local retailer is also looking back, partly at his earlier attempts to sell retro video games but also at what he missed when he didn’t have a store to keep.

Retro Gaming Vermont opened in a space on the corner of School Street and Main Street here a couple weeks ago.  It isn’t Dan Bathalon, the owner’s, first rodeo though. …
