Harold K. Davis

Harold K. Davis, 77, of Orleans died on December 5, 2011, in Newport.
He was born on September 29, 1934, in Norton, a son of Preston H. and Glenna (Falconer) Davis. On June 27, 1964, he married Patricia Cook who survives him.
Mr. Davis was a saw operator at Ethan Allen where he retired after 35 years of service. He served in the Vermont National Guard for seven years.
He enjoyed trapping minks, raccoons and muskrats, and dancing with his wife, Patty. He was a former member and officer of the Grange, and the Orleans Order of the Eastern Star.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Patricia Davis of Barton; his two children: Gabriel Davis of Newport and Rebecca Baker and her husband, Shawn, of Concord, New Hampshire; two grandchildren: Phoebe Hazel and Olivia Rose Baker of Concord, New Hampshire; by his mother-in-law Alice Cook; by his brothers-in-law: Everett and Kevin Cook; by his sister-in-law Mona Bouler of Newport; by his niece Stephanie Hyland and her husband, Eric, of Connecticut; by his nephew Thomas Bouler and his wife, Tiphany; and their families, and by several cousins; and by his uncle Raymond Falconer of Canada.
Funeral services were held in Barton on December 9.

Mary Anna Anita Forcier

Mary Anna Anita , 79, of Newport died on December 5, 2011, in Newport.
She was born on March 20, 1932, in Montgomery Center, a daughter of Harland Arthur and Marie Rachel Aline (Richer) Guyette.
On June 2, 1952, she married Fernand Forcier Sr. who survives her.
Mrs. Forcier owned and operated the Country Shop in Newport where she baked assorted cakes. She was a cook at Wayne’s Snack Bar in Newport Center, the former Top Deck on Lake Road, and the Newport Hotel. Mrs. Forcier was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and Past Regent, Ladies of St. Anne, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and she also was a volunteer at the American Red Cross and the Cancer Society.
She is survived by her husband Fernand Forcier Sr. of Newport; her children: Fernand Forcier Jr. and his wife, Linda “Cookie” Nadeau Forcier, of West Charleston, and Lynn Forcier of Newport: her grandchildren: Shawn, Jeremy, Dawn Marie, Michael Forcier, Christianna Noelle Hurd, and Keira Lin Hurd; her great-grandchildren: Oliva Raven Sky, Donovan Vincent, Connor, Trinity Forcier, and Jay-Shawn Sinclair; her brothers: Leo Rene Guyette and his wife, Joyce, of Newport, and Roland Victor Guyette and his wife, Sandra, of Vergennes; many nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Rosalie Guyette, of Derby; and by special friends: Connie Daigle and her husband, Conrad, of Newport, Ann Berrio of Newport, Denise Wright of Barton, and Amelia and Frank Ormsbee of Newport. She was predeceased by two brothers: Clement Joseph Guyette and Joseph Arthur Guyette.
Funeral services were held on December 9 in Newport. Interment followed at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Newport.

Irene L. Fortier

Irene L. Fortier, 86, of Westfield died on December 2, 2011, in Derby.
She was born on December 6, 1924, in Manchester, New Hampshire to Albert and Florida (Baron) Allard. Mrs. Fortier married Roger E. Fortier, with whom she had five children in the early 1940s, three of whom survive her.
Mrs. Fortier had various jobs throughout her life including at the Manchester shoe shops and the Fuller Brush Company. She and her husband spent many years in Florida, living in Miami, St. Petersburg, and Ocala. She enjoyed cooking holiday meals, reading, and playing bingo. Mrs. Fortier was a grandmother to ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons: Leo Fortier and his wife, Terry, of Manchester and Bruce Fortier and his wife, Jill, of Westfield; by her daughter Alice Ranieri of Newport Center; and by her sister Alice Simard of Manchester. She was predeceased by her husband Roger E. Fortier in 1996; by two sons: Robert and Richard Fortier; and by three brothers: Wilfred, Arthur, and Leo Allard.
A private service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in the Westfield Cemetery.

Kaylynne Mae Patricia Matten

Kaylynne Mae Patricia Matten, 7, died suddenly on December 6, 2011, in Newport, after a short illness.
She was born September 9, 2004, in Newport, a beloved daughter of Justin and Nicole (Craig) Matten.
Kaylynne attended Barton Graded School. She loved all animals and especially enjoyed her chickens. Kaylynne was very sweet. She loved hugs and going hunting with her Dad. She also enjoyed four-wheeling, getting dirty, and making various crafts with her Mom.
She is survived by her parents, Justin and Nicole Matten of Barton; her sisters: Brooklynne and Alexandra Matten; by a brother, Nathaniel Slade-Matten, all of Barton; by her grandparents: Linda Kirk, Wendy and Michael Carter, Pete and Kathy Matten, Roger LeBlanc, and Joseph Craig; by her great-grandparents: Pauline Fairbrother, Andre and Wilma Therrien, Sonny Matten, and Romie and Berta Craig; by a special aunt, Carly Perron; and by many, many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Jayden Matten, and by her grandmother, Patricia Matten.
Funeral services were held December 13 in Newport. Interment followed in Newport Center Cemetery.

Robert Cleon Wells

Robert Cleon Wells, 52, of Keene, New Hampshire, died on November 29, 2011, in Keene.
Mr. Wells was born on October 7, 1959, in Hartford, Connecticut, a son of June (Hart) and Rene Wells Sr. Mr. Wells was a graduate of North Country Union High School Class of 1977. He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, and many of his friends. Mr. Wells also enjoyed being outdoors with wildlife and loved the ocean shore in Florida.
He is survived by his two children: Christopher Wells and his companion, Jamie Pell, of New Port Richey, Florida, and Geromy Wells of Newport; his grandchildren: Joshua, Brooke, and Jazmin Wells, and a future grandchild expected in June; his five brothers: Roy Wells of Derby Line, Richard Wells and his wife, Vicky, of Derby, David Wells of Newport, Wade Wells and his wife, Susan, of Lyndonville, and Mark Wells and his wife, Cindy, of Newport; a sister, Diane Lawson and her husband, John, of Derby; two brothers-in-law: Wilbur Baraw and Michael Paradis both of Newport; and by his aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers: Rene Wells Jr. and Wayne Wells; and two sisters: Gloria Paradis and Beverly Baraw.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, at 2 p.m. at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 37 Lake Road, in Newport, with the Reverend Paul Prince officiating. Friends may call on December 16 at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the hour of the funeral. Spring interment will be held at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport.

Florence M. (Swett) Guyette, 91, of Newport died on December 7, 2011, in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Interment will be in the spring in Lowell.
