Two named, but not charged, in Sheffield murder

No one has been convicted, or even charged, in the murder of Mary Pat O’Hagan of Sheffield more than two years ago. Yet federal prosecutors will make a case for giving a Sheffield man a longer jail sentence in an unrelated child pornography case in federal court in Rutland next week — on the grounds that authorities are convinced this man was involved in her homicide.

 Caspian beach declared tax free

GREENSBORO — A simmering dispute that threatened to poison relations between Greensboro and Hardwick was resolved in the final days of this year’s legislative session. But the solution will not take effect until January 1, 2014.
