Brenda J. Billado, 60, of Barton died suddenly on March 5, 2011, in Newport.
She was born June 8, 1950, in Enosburg Falls, a daughter of Orroson and Irene (Bergeron) Billado.
Ms. Billado was a production worker for MSA of Newport for several years. She also worked at Ethan Allen Manufacturing for over 30 years.
She loved all animals, especially horses. She enjoyed cooking doughnuts and jellies, and she loved her work and also her friends at work.
She is survived by her sister Sandy Stone of Glover; by her brother David Billado and his wife, Sophie, of Barton; and by three nieces: Stacey Tanner, Carmen Boudreau, and Danika Billado; by her nephew Scott Stone; and by several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law Hugh Stone Jr.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at St. Theresa’s Cemetery in Orleans.

Neil J. Horgan
Neil J. Horgan, 68, of Coventry died suddenly on February 27, 2011, in Newport.
He was born September 28, 1942, in Bronx, New York, a son of John and Mary Horgan.
On July 4, 1986, he married Tammy Whitcavitch who survives him.
Mr. Horgan was a diesel mechanic for the highway department of the state of New York for many years.
He enjoyed being outdoors watching the birds and squirrels coming to the bird feeder. He enjoyed stamp collecting and working in his woodworking shop.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Horgan, of Coventry; two children Shawn Horgan of Coventry and Heather Horgan and her companion, Tom Cloney, of Newport Center; by his sisters Noreen and her husband, Frank; and Joanne and Sheila; by his adopted brother Paul Fortin of Derby; by several nieces and nephews; and by grandpuppy Munchkin.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Edgar William Kellaway
Edgar William Kellaway died peacefully on March 7, 2011, at the Bel-Aire Nursing Home in Newport.
Born in Lyndonville on July 21, 1928, he was predeceased by his parents, Bertha Fowler from Coaticook, Quebec, and William Edgar Kellaway from Beaminster, England.
He is survived by his sister Barbara Hudson of Lyndonville; son Peter Kellaway and his wife, Christina, of Derby; stepdaughters Loray Cote and her husband, John, of Newport, Robin Loveless and her husband, Ronald, of Rogers, Arkansas, and Lynn Rogers and her husband, Kimball, from Magnolia, Kentucky; and by the “apple of his eye,” granddaughter Charli Addison Kellaway.
After graduating from Lyndon Institute in 1945, where he was a standout in many sports, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served as a sonar specialist aboard the U.S.S. Cony during the Korean Conflict. Upon leaving the Navy, he apprenticed for the Canadian Pacific Railroad (CPR) in Lyndonville, Sherbrooke, Quebec, and Montreal, Quebec, eventually settling in Newport where he worked for the CPR as an electrician until he retired.
Mr. Kellaway proudly served as an alderman for the city of Newport, was a justice of the peace, worked on the city planning board, and also served as a lister for the city of Newport. He was a former member of the Elks, the American Legion, and the VFW. He was an avid golfer and a guiding force at the Newport Country Club for well over 40 years.
He had a strong sense of faith his entire life and belonged to the Episcopal church, both in Lyndonville and Newport. He is, and will be, sadly missed by his family and friends.
A church service will be held at the Episcopal church in the spring in Newport, and a graveside service will follow at the Pine Bluff Cemetery in Newport.

John Kennison
John Kennsion, born September 5, 1930, a son of Arie and Myra Kennison, died on March 6, 2011, after a short illness.
His wife of 57 years, Jackqueline (Perron) Kennison, survives him.
He was a general supervisor of roads for the state of Vermont for 25-plus years and had enjoyed a fruitful and active retirement, as he enjoyed hunting, fishing, a little gambling and traveling.
He also enjoyed his family get-togethers with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the great Perron reunions.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: Gary Kennison and his wife, Cindy, of Lowell and Terry Kennison of Boonesville, New York, and Linda and her companion, Ron Sanville, of Marlboro, Massachusetts; by his grandchildren Jaime McAllister, Kevin McAllister and his wife, Jessica, Ben Kennison, Tom Kennison and his wife, Katrina, Luke Kennison, Julie, Sarah and Adam Kennison, Michelle Soqui and her husband, Michael; by his sister Ruth Damon; and by his great-grandchildren Issac, Justin, Kayla, Zachary, LaKota, Zada, Trevor, McKenna and Cadance. He was predeceased by his brothers Melvin and Wayne Kennison and by two sisters, Barb Morse and Marie Nault.
Mr. Kennison was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army (Korean War) and he held memberships with the VFW Post #798 and the American Legion Post #21.
Graveside committal services will be held in the spring in the Irasburg cemetery.

Mildred “Millie” (Gentler) Kleinman
Mildred “Millie” Gentler Kleinman, 89, of Lake Worth, Florida, died on March 3, 2011, in Newport.
She was born July 22, 1921, in Bronx, New York, a daughter of Morris and Ida (Harris) Wasser.
She married Morton Gentler who predeceased her in 1975. She later married Joseph Kleinman who predeceased her.
Mrs. Kleinman was an office manager for New Hope Guild in Brooklyn, New York, from which she retired. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She also loved the company of her family and friends.
She is survived by two children: Howard Gentler and his wife, Vicki, of Irasburg and Rita Rossa and her husband, Richard, of Brooklyn, New York; by her grandchildren: Vicki Bender and her husband, Paul, of Reading, Pennsylvania, Marishine Gentler and her fiancé, Robert Dantona, of Tampa, Florida, and Evan Gentler and his wife, Tracy, of Boston; by great-granddaughter Gabriella Bender, of Reading; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Abraham Wasser.
A graveside service will be held at Mt. Ararat Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.

Marion (Allen) Frizzell
Marion Allen Frizzell, 89, of Newport died on February 28, 2011, in Newport.
She was born October 21, 1921, in Irasburg, a daughter of Pearlie and N. Glee (Kennison) Wells.
On September 2, 1939, she married Leslie Allen who predeceased her. On July 1, 1966, she married Benjamin Frizzell who also predeceased her on July 26, 2007.
Mrs. Frizzell was a receptionist for Ethan Allen Manufacturing in Orleans where she retired after 25 years of service.
Her hobbies included playing the piano and organ, knitting, dancing, swimming, and doing crossword puzzles. She volunteered with second-grade reading at the Orleans Elementary School and both she and her late husband, Benjamin, volunteered at the Newport Chamber of Commerce. She was an active member of the Orleans Federated Church and a clerk for Lake Region Union High School, and she was also a clerk for the union.
She is survived by her children: Claudia Niles and her husband, Ray, of Hyde Park, and David Allen and his wife, Eileen, of Castleton; by her stepchildren: Scott Frizzell and his wife, Lorraine, of Claremont, New Hampshire, Brenda LePage, and David and Holly Frizzell, all of Lyndonville; by six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; two sisters: Joyce Nietling of Las Vegas, and Persis Demick and her husband, Paul, of Palm City, Florida; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Nancy, and by her sisters Vera Lanou and Jean Bennett.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 5, at the Orleans Federated Church with the Reverend Christina Findlay officiating. Spring interment will be in the Irasburg cemetery.

Adeline (Lipscomb) Phillips
Adeline Lipscomb Phillips, 84, formerly of Spartanburg, South Carolina, died on March 3, 2011, at Bel-Aire Center Nursing Home in Newport after a lengthy illness.
She was born July 10, 1926, in Spartanburg to Thomas W. Lipscomb Sr., and Lillie Fair (Sligh) Lipscomb.
She graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1944 and Mary Black Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at the Mary Black Hospital and in the office of local cardiac doctors Cohn and Williams, and surgeons Hastings and Hague.
On June 10, 1950, she married Jones Erwin Phillips who predeceased her on January 22, 1981.
Mrs. Phillips loved the members of the Second Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg and enjoyed volunteering for the many jobs that needed to be done in the community. She was always ready to help the sick and those who needed a caring hand.
She is survived by her daughter Harriette Phillips-Hamblett and her husband, Doug, of Newport; her granddaughters Natalie Phillips-Hamblett and her husband, Mischa Redenbaugh, of Seattle, Washington, and Katherine Phillips-Hamblett of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; by siblings Theresa Black of Spartanburg, Mildred Steadman of Roebuck, South Carolina, Merlyn Willard and her husband, Stanley, of Spartanburg, and Mervin Lipscomb and his wife, Freda, of Spartanburg; as well as by many nieces and nephews. Her brother Thomas Lipscomb Jr. predeceased her.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.

Suzanne Marie (Fontaine) Savoie
Suzanne Marie (Fontaine) Savoie, 63, born in Weedon, Quebec, on May 20, 1947, to Roger and Estelle (Racine) Fontaine, died on March 1, 2011.
The family immigrated to Vermont when Mrs. Savoie was 18 months old. She was the first-born of five children: Fernand, Gerard, Theresa, and Raymond.
She attended Greensboro Elementary and High School, graduating in 1966. She entered the U.S. Women’s Army Corps (WAC) in July 1966 through October 1970 where she received clinical specialist training (LPN), served in the National Guard for three years during the Gulf War and was a member of the American Legion Post #76 in Barton.
She married Jerome Unnasch in 1970 and gave birth to two daughters, Carol Unnasch and Kathy Unnasch, who still reside in Houston, Minnesota. She was married briefly to William Bandy. In 1997, married the love of her life and best friend, Leon Savoie. She enjoyed summers on Eligo Lake and winters in Florida for ten years with her husband, Leon.
Mrs. Savoie worked at CVH as an LPN for 13 years, loved to sing in church choirs, the Northeast Kingdom Chorus and the Bayley Hazen Singers led by Larry Gordon. She enjoyed learning and playing accordion and loved gardening. She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Bushnell, Florida, and of the Tri-County Parishes of St. Norbert’s in Hardwick, St. Michael’s in Greensboro Bend, and Lady of Fatima in Craftsbury.
Mrs. Savoie was predeceased by her mother, Estelle; her father, Roger Fontaine; her sister, Theresa Cruz; and her husband, Leon Savoie. She is survived by her daughters Carol and her husband, Jamie Teale, Kathy Unnasch and her friend, David Dahle; granddaughters Nikki and Cheyenne Dahle; brothers Fernand and his wife, Laura, Gerard, Raymond and his wife, Claire; brother-in-law James Cruz; three stepgrandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on March 5 with a Mass at St. Michael’s Church.

Mary Frances (Rumery) Taylor
Mary Frances (Rumery) Taylor, 89, died in Newport on Friday, March 4, 2011.
She was born May 1, 1921, in Burlington, a daughter of Frank and Ethel (Badger) Guimond.
She attended Newport High School and the Powelson Institute in Syracuse, New York. After school she returned to Newport and worked at the Montgomery Ward store.
She married Wesley H. Rumery on February 1, 1942, who predeceased her on November 16, 1970. After their marriage Mrs. Taylor worked for American Maple Products. In 1947, she and her family moved to Derby Line. She lived there for 41 years. She became secretary to the late Austin F. Foster, retired general counsel for Mobil Oil Corporation and Derby’s representative. After he died, Mrs. Taylor substituted in Derby schools. Then she worked 14 years for Community National Bank and became assistant vice-president.
On February 14, 1988, she married Fred W. Taylor who predeceased her March 3, 1991. They lived in Morgan. After he died, Mrs. Taylor moved to Kingsbury Village in Derby, where she was the building manager for a brief time.
She was highly active in church, school, community affairs, and the Republican party. She belonged to many clubs and organizations and she was on a few boards. She worked hard for charity and did a great deal of volunteer work. She also held a few public offices.
Mrs. Taylor once said, “It is not important what one does to keep busy but the true measure of a person is whether one is a good person or not.”
She was a good person. She was a devoted wife and mother and she was a friend to all and a generous giver. She was loved by many in the community and by all her children, and she will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her children: Mary Jean Carbone of Derby Line, Richard Rumery of Newport Center, Frank Rumery of Enfield, Connecticut, George Rumery and his wife, Sue Davis, of Newport, Mark Rumery and his wife, Nancy, of Derby Line; by stepdaughter Anne Taylor Moore and her husband, David, of Derby; by 11 grandchildren; and by five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on March 10 at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Newport with the Reverend Fred Barker officiating. Spring interment will be in the Derby Line cemetery.

John “Jack” A. Yetsko
John “Jack” A. Yetsko, 63, of West Charleston died suddenly on February 28, 2011, in West Charleston.
He was born April 13, 1947, in Orange, New Jersey, a son of Alfred and Anne (Schmidt) Yetsko.
On May 31, 1977, he married Kristi Vanderzanden who survives him.
Mr. Yetsko entered the U.S. Navy and served his country during the Vietnam War. He later retired from the military.
He was very much a family man and a great father and husband. His hobbies included parachuting, working with computers, and he had an interest in automobiles.
He is survived by his wife, Kristi Yetsko, of West Charleston; two children: John S. Yetsko and his wife, Michele, of Enfield, Connecticut, and Meagan Yetsko of West Charleston; by grandchildren Matthew and Joshua Yetsko of Enfield; by his brother Stephen Yetsko and his wife, Donna, of Sanibele, Florida; by his sister Denise Parry of Seven Hills, Ohio; and by several nieces and nephews.
Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
