Byron Charles Cady

Byron Charles Cady, 60, of Morgan died peacefully on Thursday, December 2, 2010, at his home with his wife, Pamela, by his side.
He was born on December 21, 1949, in Boston, Massachusetts, a son of Ruth (Watson) and the late Charles Cady.
He graduated from Emerson College in Boston and received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.
He entered the U.S. Navy on April 19, 1971, and was honorably discharged on April 18, 1975. He served in the Vietnam War while he was stationed on the USS Saratoga.
He was employed by Intel and IBM as an engineer at locations throughout the country, and he also was employed by North Country Engineering in Derby and for the Canadian Pacific Railroad until 2002.
Mr. Cady enjoyed photography, shooting his weapons, and all sorts of hand and power tools.  His passion was playing his guitar.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association.
He married Pamela Taylor of Morgan who survives him.  Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Brianne Nichols and her husband, Scott, of Brownington and Dani Davis and her husband, Ricky, of Barre; by the mother of his daughters, LeAnn Cady, of Orleans; by his mother, Ruth Cady, of Venice, Florida; stepchildren Tamieka Daigle and her daughter Cienna Grace, and Luke and Marshal Daigle both of Morgan; a brother, Phillip Cady, and his wife, Jean, of Maynard, Massachusetts; by nephew Charlie Cady, currently in the Armed Forces; and by his special cat Meow-Meow.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Delbert J. Cota

Delbert J. Cota, 59, of Jay died suddenly on December 4, 2010, in Newport.
He was born August 9, 1951, in Newport, a son of Arnold Cota Sr. and Dale (Sargent) Cota.
On August 9, 1991, he married Ann Richardson who survives him.
Mr. Cota was a member of the Jay Fire Department for 25 years and the Missisquoi Ambulance Service.  He served in the U.S. Navy for three years.  He worked for the Christmas Loft for over 15 years.  He was most recently working for the town of Troy during the day, and he and his wife ran their own business, Cedarwood Resort of Jay, working nights.
He loved to camp with his wife, and he also enjoyed hunting, baseball, softball, and any other outdoor sport.  He loved to dance, and he really enjoyed his family and their conversations and visits.  He served as town constable and he was a great promoter of the town of Jay and the Jay area.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Cota, of Jay; by his children:  Amy and Keith Deavitt of South Burlington, Buffy and Marty Ardine of Loudon, New Hampshire, Heidi and Scott Rappold of Jay, Betsy and Mike Purvis of Chichester, New Hampshire, Melissa and Mike Scherer of Beebe Plain, and Meghan Gyles and her fiancé, Cory Peck, of Nashua, New Hampshire; by his grandchildren:  Amber and Eric Mosher, Nick, Brenna, Sierra, Jacob, Ryan, Zachary, Ryliegh, Logan, and Rachel; by great-grandson Robbie; by two brothers, Arnold Cota Jr.  and his wife, Mary, of Jay, Terry Cota and Dorann Cota of St. Johnsbury; by his aunt Melba and uncle Howard Cota; by his mother- and father-in-law, Lee and Donna Richardson, of Jay; brothers- and sisters-in-law Jan and Jules Thibeault of Canaan and Nancee and Tom Gelinas of  Henniker, New Hampshire; by several nieces and nephews; and by special friend Doug.  He became a friend to almost everyone he met.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, with the Reverend Larry Wall officiating.

Elizabeth A. Labrecque

Elizabeth A. Labrecque, 65, of Glover died in Newport on December 3, 2010, after a long illness.
She was employed as an inspector for Ethan Allen Manufacturing in Orleans for over 20 years until her retirement.
She enjoyed her animals, fishing on Lake Ontario, snowmobiling, working with special needs individuals, and working in her flower and vegetable gardens.
She is survived by her son Robert Rockwell and his wife, Toni, of Farmington, New Hampshire; by her daughter Rhonda Ebelt and her husband, David, of Chatham, Virginia; by her grandchildren Ryan Mason of Virginia, Justin Ebelt of North Carolina, David Ebelt of Virginia, Crystal Hamnett of New Hampshire, and Jason Hamnett and his wife, Jessica, of New Hampshire; by her great-grandchildren Cameron Ebelt, Alexander Mason, and Tyler Seigen; by her brother Irving and sister Carol; sister-in-law Audrey Rockwell; brother-in-law Richard Rockwell; and by a dear friend Kevin Reil.  She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Rockwell, in 1976.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home at 12 Elm Street in Barton with the Reverend Richard Whitehill officiating.  Friends may call at the funeral home on December 8 from 1 p.m. until the hour of the funeral.  Spring interment will be in Westlook Cemetery.

Annetta L. Meinen
Annetta L. Meinen, 91, of Barton formerly of Reno, Nevada, died on November 24, 2010, peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 10, 1919, in Letts, Iowa, a daughter of William and Maude (Hidelbaugh) Furnas.
In 1947 she married Robert Meinen who predeceased her in 1969.
Mrs. Meinen received her bachelor’s degree in education and taught at Battle Mountain Elementary School in Nevada for many years.
She is survived by her children:  Anne Meinen Albrecq of Barton and Robert L. Meinen and his wife, Theresa, of Idaho; by the following grandchildren:  Heather Pfaff of Barton, Robert A. Meinen of Nevada, Matthew W. Meinen of Gallatin, Tennessee, Michael Meinen of California, and Scott Meinen of Idaho; by 12 great-grandchildren; and by a brother, Bill Furnas, of Iowa.
Funeral services were held on December 6 in Reno with burial at Mountain View Cemetery in Reno.

Julie A. Pion, 46, of Lowell died on December 3, 2010, in Newport surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 15, 1964, in Newport, a daughter of Shirley (Longley) and Roland Blanchard Sr.
On December 3, 1999, she married Jeremy Pion who survives her.
Mrs. Pion was secretary for Pion General Repair of Lowell.  She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and doing word search puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, Jeremy Pion, of Lowell; her two children:  Ryan Folgherait and his girlfriend, Ally Cota, of North Troy, and Amber Folgherait and her boyfriend, Tyler Wiesen, of Holland; her mother-in-law, Cindy, father-in-law, Albert Pion, of Lowell; her brother Roland Blanchard Jr. of Albany; two sisters:  Kenricka Blanchard and her boyfriend, Joseph, Rollo of North Troy, and Roxanne Major and her husband, Gary, of Albany; and by several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.  She was predeceased by her mother, Shirley Blanchard, on September 12, 2010, and by her father, Roland Blanchard Sr., on October 10, 2010.
A graveside service was held on December 8 at the St. Ignatius Cemetery in Lowell with the Reverend Nathan Strong officiating.

Pearl Mae Sanville

Pearl Mae Sanville, 89, of Coventry died peacefully on November 28, 2010, at the Newport Health Care Center in Newport.
She was born on August 15, 1921, in Sheffield, a daughter of Harlow and Electer (Percy) Eastman.
On February 22, 1941, she married Lawrence Sanville who predeceased her in 2001.
Mrs. Sanville graduated from Lyndon State College where she received a bachelor of science degree.  She was an elementary school teacher at a one-room schoolhouse on the Collins Mill Road and a school on the Buzzell Road, both in Newport Center.  She was a substitute teacher for Jay and Newport Center elementary schools.
She is survived by her children:  Roger Sanville and his wife, Susan, of Coventry, Marion Brown, and Burton Sanville and his wife, Janice, all of Marlborough, Massachusetts; by eight grandchildren; by 18 great-grandchildren; by 11 great-great-grandchildren; and by several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by the following brothers:  Bud, Mahlon, Percy, and infant Howard Eastman.
Funeral services were held at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Memorial Chapel in Newport on December 4 with the Reverend Chris Barton officiating.  Interment followed at the Newport Center cemetery.

Virginia M. Taylor

Virginia M. Taylor, 75, of Coventry died on November 30, 2010, in Newport.
She was born on August 7, 1935, in Newport Center, a daughter of Damon and Leora (Rollins) Bowen.
On June 25, 1955, she married Chester Taylor who survives her.
Mrs. Taylor was the Coventry Village School lunch manager until she retired in 1997.  She was a life member of the Eureka Grange of Coventry.  She enjoyed cooking, working on her computer, sewing, and she was a great homemaker.  She was a leader in the community and supported many local schools, churches, clubs, organizations, and charities.
She is survived by her husband, Chester Taylor, of Coventry; her children:  Valerie and Brad Autry of Garland, Texas, Carleen and Mark Leonhardt of League City, Texas, Brian and Christine Taylor of Milton, and Steve Taylor and Sara Wright of Coventry; by the following grandchildren:  Evan and Tyla Autry, Courtney and Austin Leonhardt, Jenna and Jacob Taylor, David, Kaitlyn, and Anthony Wright; by sister-in-law Lorraine Bowen of Derby; and by several nieces, nephews and other relations.  She was predeceased by three brothers:  Roderick and Carlton Bowen, and Sidney Rollins.
A memorial and remembrance service will be held at a later date.
