Earl Eugene Mosher

Earl Eugene Mosher, 92, of Derby died December 9, 2009, and went to be with his Lord and Savior.
Mr. Mosher was born April 21, 1917.
He and his wife, Arlene, were longtime residents of Derby and members of the Church of the Nazarene in Newport since the late 1950s.  He and the first pastor, Cyril Palmer, built most of the initial church.
He worked on his father’s farms for many years in Derby and Holland.  In later years, he mastered the construction trades and worked as a home builder and finish carpenter for his own company and numerous companies throughout the Northeast Kingdom.
He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Arlene Margaret Mosher; by his father, Eugene W. Mosher; by his mother, Hattie B. Mosher; by sisters Audrey Dunn and Kathy Mosher; and by infant brother Reginald Mosher.
He is survived by his stepdaughter Rosalie Jane Brown and her husband, Donald, of Derby Line and their children Kathy and Douglas; by stepson D.R. Jacobs, his wife, Judy, and their daughter Margaret of Florida; by three sisters:  Helen Plante and her son Ronald of Derby, Regina Peterson and her son Robert of Derby, and Beulah Paddleford of West Charleston and her children:  Eugene, Gary, Milton, Karen, Timmy, and Billy of Derby; by nieces and nephews:  Mitchell, Gail, Wayland, Valerie, Cameron, Melody, Marland, Jimmy, and Tammy; and by his sister-in-law Pauline Roderer of Sun City, Florida, her children:  Brian, Mark, Gail, Karen, and Virginia Lawrence of Derby Line and her sons:  Patrick, Michael, and Andrew; by ten foster children:  Gary Bickford, Bruce Bradley, Allen Bradley, Paul Bradley, Bonnie Barrup, Susan Jacobs, Shirley Moulton, Shirley Osborne, Luna French, and Cyril Trombley; and by numerous foster grandchildren.
Funeral services were held December 15 at the Church of the Nazarene with the Reverend Paul Prince officiating.  Spring interment will be announced at a later date.

David Henry Ostrout Sr.
David Henry Ostrout Sr., 67, of Brownington died December 10, 2009, in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
Mr. Ostrout was born May 3, 1942, in Barton, a son of Frank and Katherine (Pope) Ostrout.
He is survived by his children:  David Ostrout Jr. of Morrisville, Richard Ostrout of Barre, Donna of Morrisville, Roland Ostrout of Morrisville, Gail of St. Johnsbury, and Joey of Morrisville; by 14 grandchildren; by his sister Dorothy Aiken of Newport; by three nephews:  Kenneth, Kermit, and Keith Aiken; and by his former wives Virginia Richardson of Morrisville and Mary Rushlow of Concord.  He was predeceased by his brother Kenneth Pope; and by his sister Shirley Ostrout.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, at the Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Memorial Chapel on Lake Road in Newport, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, with the Reverend Martha Peck officiating.  Spring interment will be in Mountainview Cemetery in Lowell.

Constance M. Parady
Constance M. Parady, 68, of Derby Line died peacefully on December 9, 2009, in Troy.
Mrs. Parady was born April 17, 1941, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Matthew and Eleanor (Tompkins) Carolan.
She married Larry K. Parady, who survives her.
She graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
She enjoyed collecting dolls and making dollhouses.  She also enjoyed the company of her dog and cats.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Parady, of Troy; by two sons, Matthew Lovell and his wife, Lale, of Longmont, Colorado, and Bernard Scott Lovell and his wife, Maureen, of Danielson, Connecticut; and by her brother Jack Carolan of Florida.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Howard W. “Junior” Payne Jr.

Howard W. “Junior” Payne Jr., age three, died in a tragic car accident on December 1, 2009,
Junior was born January 30, 2006, the beloved son of Howard Payne Sr. of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Bonnie Page of Troy.
He loved to do all the things that three-year-old little boys love to do like playing in the park with his father, air hockey, and with trucks, running around, and playing with his little brother Charlie and baby sister Soule.
He was a pure joy to have around and could light up a room with his smile and big heart.  He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know and love him.
He is survived by his father, Howard W. Payne Sr.; by his mother, Bonnie Page; by little brother Charlie; by baby sister Soule; by paternal grandparents Thomas A. and Julia Payne of Manchester and Frances B. Abildnes of Swan Lake, New York; by maternal grandfather Robert Page of Troy; by paternal great-grandmother Irene Payne of Manchester; and by multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Sylvia Page.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.  A reception will be held at his aunt Barbara Payne’s home in Manchester on Sunday, December 20.

Claude J. Roberge
Claude J. Roberge, 60, of St. Johnsbury died December 9, 2009, in St. Johnsbury, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Roberge was born June 19, 1949, in Bonsiecour, Quebec, a son of Raoul and Rejeanne (Gagnon) Roberge.
On February 3, 1968, he married Trudy Willis, who survives him.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 798 and American Legion Post 21 of Newport and was a second vice in the Legion.
He liked to hunt and ice fish and enjoyed watching his nephews play hockey.
He and his wife enjoyed traveling; they traveled to Florida several times.
He was a self-employed carpenter who built and worked on many projects in the area, until multiple sclerosis affected his ability to continue.
He will probably be remembered as the man people saw riding around Newport on his little red scooter with the flag on top.
He is survived by his wife, Trudy Roberge, of Derby Line; by siblings:  Bertrand Roberge and his wife, Gisele, of Stanstead, Jacques Roberge and his wife, Susan, of Newport, Omer Roberge and his wife, Rhonda, of Newport, Gaetan Roberge and his wife, Lori, of South Carolina, Guy Roberge and his wife, Faye, of Florida, Lise Hickey and her husband, James, of Florida, Claudette Starr and her husband, John, of North Troy, Pauline Routhier and her husband, Roger, of Newport, and Gaetane Patenaude and her husband, Marcel, of Holland; by his in-laws:  John Willis and his wife, Donna, of Florida, Duane Willis and his wife, Beverly, of Florida, Marlene Bullis and her husband, Joseph, of Derby, and Jody Cleveland and her husband, Mark, of Barton; by his mother-in-law, Thelma Willis, of Derby Line; and by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was predeceased by his parents; and by his twin sister, Claudette, in 1949.
Funeral services were held December 14 at the Church of the Nazarene in Newport with the Reverend Paul Prince officiating.  Spring interment will be in the Morgan Center Cemetery.
