Animal Kingdom has been professionally
grooming dogs and cats since 1994, and has
grown from an owner-operated business to
an establishment with three employees and
over 5,000 four-legged clients.
The grooming is done by Michele Judd, who received her professional grooming training at Nash Academy of Animal Arts in Lexington, Kentucky.  Michele’s philosophy is to provide owners with a foundation for caring for the health and grooming of their pets. Customers request the haircut they desire and then Michele works to make it easy to maintain, and comfortable for the animal. Animals are washed twice,
given a conditioning treatment, fluff dried, thoroughly brushed, ears
cleaned, and nails trimmed and filed. Animal Kingdom also provides
medicated shampoos, flea control, and shedding management. After
the pet is groomed, the owner can shop for dog and cat supplies in the
store’s retail section, which stocks specialty collars, leashes, toys,
treats, training aids, safety vests, sweaters, and much, much more.
Snickers Self-Service Pet Wash is a fully equipped area where
customers can bathe and dry their own pets using grooming-provided
supplies and equipment. Snickers even cleans up the mess!
Animal Kingdom appreciates your patronage and thanks you for
making the business successful.

Kingdom Canine Center is celebrating five years in business! A big thank-you to all their customers!  Deanna Baker, the owner, has two dogs and three cats of her own. She has lived in Vermont for almost eight years and loves it here. She has been grooming for 12 years and still has the compassion for it that she did 12 years ago.  KCC offers grooming, dog daycare, manners (obedience) and agility training.

All natural shampoo is used for all breeds of dogs and cats. Grooming is a great way to help keep your pet happy and healthy. They also accept walk-in nail trims. They will cater to the needs of you and your pet.

Dog daycare is becoming more popular, as people love picking up a tired dog after work. KCC’s favorite saying is “play all day, sleep all night.” The dogs have a large 1,000 square foot area to romp around inside, which opens to a fenced-in yard for them to go in and out as they please. The first day of daycare is free!

Training and agility are not only for learning, but fun as well. They use positive reinforcement methods only, allowing your pet to become a thinking dog. The dog works for you because they want to, not because they have to.

Check Kingdom Canine Center out on Facebook; they are always doing something fun!

Newport Veterinary Hospital and Doctor at Your Door

Providing compassionate, high-quality care for the pets of the Northeast Kingdom

Dr. Babineau, Dr. Hailey, and the staff care for your pets as if they were their own. The key to keeping your four-legged family members healthy is excellent preventative care, including yearly examinations, regular vaccinations, high quality nutrition, and dental care. During these tough economic times, money spent on protection and prevention may remove the need for long hospital stays, suffering, and costly medications.

There are things you can do at home to help keep your pets happy and healthy. Proper diets and feeding the right amounts to prevent obesity have been proven to help your beloved friends live longer. Also, for your pet’s safety, make sure your home is “pet proof.” Cats and dogs can be curious, just as children can be. It is important to remember, too, that our four-legged family members are not human, and MANY things that are okay for us, can be toxic to them if eaten or put on the skin.

In 2012 the Pet Poison Hotline listed the most common toxins for dogs and cats: Human medications (including antidepressants, Advil, Aleve, Tylenol, sleep aids, and other human prescriptions), Xylitol (a sugar-free sweetener used in many gums and candies), chocolate, insect bait stations, rodenticides (mouse and rat poison), fertilizers, silica gel packs (drying agents in packaging), household cleaners, lilies (deadly for cats), canine pyrethroid insecticides (topical flea and tick medicine designed for dogs but placed on cats), paints and varnishes, veterinary non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (Rimadyl®, Deramaxx®), and glow sticks/glow jewelry. There are so many things that can affect our pets — think and ask. A veterinarian is always available by phone!
