Penguin Plungers brave the cold

It was not weather for swimming, but dozens of brave volunteers took to the waters of Lake Memphremagog Saturday with temperatures in the teens and a strong wind blowing down from Canada. The participants in this year’s edition of the Penguin Plunge forsook the comfort of home, hearth and clothing in order to raise money for the Special Olympics. Among the ten waves of plungers who braved the frigid waters was this team from Enosburg. For more photographs of intrepid swimmers please see this week's Chronicle. Photo by Joseph Gresser
